Zane was born in the same town as Albert was as a normal Eevee, where he garnered an interest in technology, he would enjoy helping out at the electronics shop, and sometimes tended to take electronic devices apart just to see how they worked.

When Zane turned 14, he was chosen for an experiment by Dr. Wright, while he originally wanted to evolve into a Jolteon, Wright Laboratories was studying the evolution methods of Eevee and was searching for new alternative ways for Eevee to evolve, as well as discovering new evolutions of the species. Zane was interested in an experiment involving robotics, unfortunately, this was an abandoned experiment involving the roboticization of Pokemon, Dr. Wright, however, let Zane look into it, but seemed rather worried since she had previously seen what happened when an Eevee entered the roboticizer, which, due to Eevees bizzare and unstable genetic structure, resulted in an entirely new evolution, this is what happened to Zane in the end, although given his love for electronics, Zane was happy the way he was after his evolution/roboticization.

Being a robot, Zane has access to information and data about various things, he can also access the internet without using a computer since he basically is one. He currently lives with Ace and Albert, he normally tries to stay out of fights between his roomates by spending most of his time reading. He really dislikes getting unplugged while recharging though.
