Ano'da, or "Pix" as they're commonly known are a species originating from a planet which spiraled into its sun sometime around 1600.
They were discovered and the remaining species were extracted by an unknown and ancient species. They were deposited on a planet now known as "Sabia" along with a number of other rescued species.
They can, as it says in the artz, shape shift.
But it's only about .05% that can actively do so.
they're also about 4' tall
This was a story a friend and I wrote long ago and is the "other species" I mentioned several YEARS back.
