Some of you may have noticed that Kaze kinda likes Japanese things. (Some of you also know that "Kaze" is Japanese for "wind." See?)
Some of you also are aware of my penchant for understatement as a humor device.
Anyhow, when I played Bayonetta, a game of quintessentially-Japanese make, my impression after noting how Bayonetta's hair would turn into crazy pseudo-demons was that I should probably have my character do something like that. And I had a feeling that Kaze was the perfect fabulous otaku for the job.
So, at Anthrocon a few years back, I commissioned this pencil piece from the windy wolf himself, and upon receiving it, I mentioned that the thing made me look...rather suspiciously wind-oriented. He then babbled something incoherent about that I couldn't be more windy than him. It was pretty cute. <3
Still, here it is. Artists who depict Terra have a tendency to either kinda leave the ribbon motifs out, or to go crazy with them--and I'm happy that Kaze chose to do the latter with this, all while capturing the stylish dance-cum-deadliness that is evoked by everyone's favorite stilt-legged, gun-strap-on-sporting, Japanese nunwitch.
