During Sun Ce's conquest for the lands that would serve as the foundation of Dong Wu, a small temple in the Jiangdong territory peacefully submitted to the rule of the rising Sun family. Kai Yun-Jun, stylized Boping, was found abandoned as a baby at the temple steps. He was raised from infancy by the monks of the temple, until he was adopted in his early childhood by the Lu family, one of the four prestigious families in the Jiangdong region. Kai Yun-Jun exhibited much potential and was put through rigorous schooling, emerging as a fine young adult once finished.
Seeking more influence for itself, the Lu family sent Kai Yun-Jun to serve as an officer under the general Lu Xun, who was well on his rise to fame in Wu. The eager Kai Yun-Jun proved himself worthy during the campaigns to integrate the small tribes in the Wu territories and earned a spot at the Colonel Who Settles Majesty's right hand side. As a trusted field officer, Kai Yun-Jun helped propel his commander's career further by executing critical components of Lu Xun's strategies. Many say the fires of Yiling would not have been lit if the infiltration force was led by anyone else but Kai Yun-Jun.
Kai Yun-Jun continued to serve under Lu Xun through his many campaigns as the Grand Commander, where his battle tactics earned him the title of General who Ensures Victory.
