I think so... I found plans for the J-3 Kitten last week and will be reworking the design into a two seat plane...
I know you like the older racers well dear heart have a look see here http://skagitaero.com/aircraft/hall.....field-bulldog/ they are about 60 or so miles from me too. I'm going to try and get up there this summer.

well the J-3 Kitten http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U80dpU-rIN4 is not the J-3 made by Piper it's an ultralight that was designed back in the mid 80s they also had plans for the J-6 Kangaroo that was a two seat and it was just a bit bigger and sat twp up side by side. I'm taking the Kitten plans I found on the web and changing it to become something more like the J-6 Kangaroo. It will be more like the Piper J-4 and a bit smaller and lighter but it will carry about the same weight as the J-4 Piper.

I have three ideas on the drawing board right now and they are all light aircraft designs... One of them is patterned after the Short Skyvan only with 35 foot span and about 20 feet long and single engine driving twin props... in the back there would be room to sleep two because it would be 53 inches inside the framing... and the flat would be about seven feet long.
So many ideas and so little time....
