In for realies, I used to love building with LEGOS and a toy set called "Construx". I feel bad as my 5 year old son is a super builder and gobbles up LEGOs and, because of how lousy my vision is now, I have a very hard time seeing his masterpieces. :( If any time I truly wish I could have my eyes fixed it is for him so that I could genuinely enjoy his creations while being able to see all the small pieces and instructions well enough to comfortably partake in them, too.

Oh, they are. Most sets are like $40 with the ones my son eyes up being $80 or more. They have this one of the Death Star that I think is a couple hundred! Yipes!
Needless to say, LEGOs are a special treat over here, but he loves em' and we love seeing em' have fun with em'. :)

Yeah, but my guess is they're making a much bigger profit than they're supposed to. The components alone are just molded bits of plastic. Not all that expensive. I guess its the fact that all the parts are reusable and can make other things besides what is on the box, but its still a rip off. Thats why there are other companies like Mega Blocks and Kre-O out there to make some competition.
I didn't know about Kre-O until recent. However, if I"m not mistaken, they actually are compatible with Legos. Being cheaper, this is a most delightful find indeed.
If you're a Transformers fan, I think Kre-O also has build yourself models of classics like Jazz, Starscream, and Bumble Bee. Pretty cool, eh?
