Thank you man!!
there's another track on my fafnir myspace page
there's also a link there to my main project, first link in my 'top friends' thingy
(i don't want to post the url, i fear google!)
I used Reason 3.0 to arrange and mix it, I used the Edirol digital recorder to record it.
I'm glad you liked the drums! I wanted to apply the theory of lost time to them instead of on the guitar where it usually is utilized

Yeah, that's what I liked about them. :} They struck me as a little odd at first, but then it really adds to the mood.
Also-- Fafnir on MySpace, ohman. Gram sounds so beautiful, and so crisp. Seriously, you have to let us know when you've got it all finished. <3
Something I've noticed just now is how there's very little airy-fuzz to be heard on the guitar in Gram, as opposed to Falling Dark Pit. Choice on your part?

> sooo some of you people probably know i'm a musician. i do all kinds of stuff, mainly very experimental electronic stuff.
No, I didn't know that. Are you named after the Bowie/Eno track, then?
Yay for electronic craziness! I do that too - more info on my userpage and journals in case you care. :)

Very mellow.
Damn, I really love this. Very much my kind of scene.
The drums do seem a bit 'off' at some points (almost as if they are rebelling against the guitars), but this is definatly a great song. Not only am I going to fave it, but I'll download it for my iPod too.
Great work!

well after i get the idea for the song all set, i figure out the tempo by using a metronome
then i play each guitar part individually using the metronome as a reference for tempo. i record each part a few times and choose the best parts of each take. so the guitar is made up of several takes and layers.
i play drums, so i just did that on the drum set we have.
then i just layer and arrange everything in Reason and add reverb and mix/EQ everything to my liking. ta-dah!

Man, this is a fine work of music.
The echoing of the guitar gaves this a super relaxing mood.
Same with the slow steady beat of the drums.
Amazing word man.
I'd love to hear more.
I'm toss this in my iPod if you don't mind.
Show a few of my buddies.
Haha, I'm going to listen to this while i'm baked so I can appreciate the sound ever more.

Is it odd that this brought about images of a mexican saloon, and perhaps a tortured soul who wallows in tequila?
I was waiting for it to become a bit less somber, I'm not a big fan of easy listening, except when it's an introduction of sorts to the rest of the story of the album.
Much love mang. Now I want tequila.
I may be tempted to remix this, if I had half a clue how to. I actually kinda wanna learn, that's how much I liked it. X.X

Pretty nice dude. A few things caught my ear.. mainly it was just a part in the drums where the track seemed off. You might have done that on purpose... but it's still kinda rough. And your playing seems a little stiff.. or one stringed. The thing that impressed me the most was the composition, or your use of the software to bring it all together. And A-fucking-plus on the key change.
I'm even more impressed that you find the time to: Be a colleger, draw monthly for a website /comic /gallery, compose music, and work a job. (at least I think I remember you saying something about a job)... anyways. You gots major multitasking skillzorz.

wow this is pretty amazing.
Drums do sound a little off in a couple places... but i cannot play the drums at all, so you did a much better job than I .
Guitar sounds great, what do you use to put it all together?
Ive never been much for writing my own stuff....usually just playing covers.

thanks! yeh i wanted the drums to stutter and stick like that to make it all tensiony, but maybe i went a bit too far? i wanted it to be a little more subtle i think :0
anyway i used edirol device to record it, and goldwave to edit the samples and master it, and reason to arrange it
i'm working on a song now but the timing is totally arrrrgh
anyway, thanks dude!!

it was very a very kind offer and comment! sometimes i wish i could work like other musicians or bands like that, but once i complete something i just move on, i don't have a desire to learn or remember it or play it over and over. the idea is out of me, time to make new ones!
