[i]When a young man named Dustin finds out there is a chance to cure his Crohn's Disease with an experimental treatment, he is fully on board... But when strange side effects start to affect him, will he be as eager?[/]
This piece was very interesting to write. First of all, it's well more than just a 'becoming my fursona' story. It deals with important themes in an important way. For those of you wanting to learn more about Crohn's Disease, consider the links below;

Well, Crohn's frequency of syndromes is random, so people could live for decades without having any pains, whereas others would suffer from it everyday. Luckily, I'm more on the second category, it happens once a month or so. So I don't think of myself as "cursed" or "punished" as others could say, and I'm fairly at peace with it. Still, it's interesting to see someone treating the subject in this kind of story.
(And he may be wrong, but my doctor assured me that it was not a genetic disease, I'm not sure your family having it increases your chances of being infected with it.)

I am far from an expert on the issue, but I checked out numerous websites that all said that there was a genetic predisposition that can be passed down, and higher instances of it in siblings than not.
Then again, most of the stuff I read said no chance for surgical procedures to help, but I've heard of people getting them.
