I hope he accepts this. I put way too much effort into this already... it was fun, but still.

Oooh. Now this is classy as I'll honestly say. Mainly because it's a monochrome picture, it looks like one of those old fashioned way back in the day. Like taken with the huge camera and flash powder [Yes. THAT kind of old picture. ]
Personally speaking, I like the detail on the clothing here. It's that old fashioned feel to this that I tend to lean towards. [Hey, when people call them the good old days, we're going to believe they're doing it for a reason after all.]
Excuse me while I tell you that I like this.
Rather shameful to think that I've had to take 8 months to comment on this.
Moreso that I'm the only one who has. Now that's insulting..

pah, some artists out there must get used to it. I certainly do... the fact that it's the more 'sophisticated' pieces that get ignored adds some icing to it, but there.
thanks for your comment.
actually, my reference WAS an old, bleached photograph, supposedly a scene from some obscure opera that was only on stage for a short time, with only an audio recording left... and only this one photograph.
a pity if you ask me; they actually wore fox masks, tails, and a couple pieces of fur. and not of bad quality, either.
said photo was found online by my customer, in a pitiful format, and really coarse. it took me quite some twisting to make it usable. in fact, I'm happy how the result turned out (part of the 'too much effort' remark).
I like to play around with old-style clothing, it can create wondrous pictures with a wide variety of themes.
