Name: Soldier (sometimes shortened to Sol/Soul)
Alias: Avyris/Avy, Camoyena, Disturbed/Dissy (rp/forum screenname)
Age: 22
DOB: February 20th
Gender: Female
Species: Prehistoric Cave Hyena
Alternate Forms: American Pitbull Terrier, Alaskan Wolverine, Black Bengal or Sabertoothed Tiger, Cerberus (halloween only), Eastern dragon
Height: 39.5 inches at the shoulder
Weight: 212 lbs
(Small for her species, but gigantic compared to modern animals, matches an African Lion in height and length)
Appearance: Dark muddy brown underside, legs and spots over a medium brown base coat. Dark brown spots scattered around extremities, giving her a muddied appearance. White marks on toes, chest and face. Short, thick red mane and tail, pink nose and pawpads. Fur overall is much longer/thicker than the hair of most spotted hyenas as she lives in a much colder area. Head hair rests over eyes and face, so her eyes are rarely seen. Left eye was lost in a confrontation years ago and is now just an empty socket. Scarring over it is optional to include, and is usually omitted. Has a small patch of red hair over her private parts and two tears in her left ear.
Accessories: Hardly ever seen without her black pilot's cadet cap, or without her silver chain and military dog tags. Other accessories are rarely included, though she does occasionally swap hats. May be seen in a black furred hat with ear flaps on the sides during winter months, and may wear bandannas around her neck as well for added warmth. Likes clothing with camouflage patterns.
Likes: Hard rock, dance/club music, dubstep, anything that has anything to do with the military, firearms, vehicles and complex machinery (especially cars), Xbox, violent video games, criticizing terrible movies, puzzles, programming, sports, hats, reptiles
Dislikes: Nintendo, Mac's, spiders, needles and anything similar to them (beestings, splinters), sparkledogs, wolfaboos, weeaboos, most types of reality tv, romance/drama/chickflick type movies, Twilight, zombies, knock offs, idiots, the color pink, birds
General Personality: Comes off as stoic, careless and sometimes a little cold. Avoids extensive social contact, particularly in large groups, and keeps to herself more often than not. Dark, snarky and sarcastic sense of humor, can be unintentionally cruel or vulgar in the eyes of observers. Distrusting of strangers, particularly when with her friends. Very protective of loved ones, vicious when crossed, but loyal and devoted with those that she trusts. Generally described as laid-back, casual, calm, and collected. Awkward but otherwise likeable.
Quirks:
- Obsessed with rimmed hats, almost always seen in one
- Terrible eyesight, may be drawn with square half-rimmed glasses
- Far more emotional than she lets on
- Suffers from a lot of separation anxiety when left alone for long periods
- Flea-bitten, does a lot of scratching
- Has the reproductive anatomy of a normal female spotted hyena
- Lives in a small clan in a north eastern forest, spends much of her time away from them though
There we are. A nice fresh start, and a new look at myself through my fursona. I don't want to hear it if you liked Avy better the way she was. She was my fursona, I can change her if I want and I am doing this for good personal and mental health reasons, so shut the fuck up.

ooooh a new update. Very interesting. I'm love'n the hat and the colour of the hair. Cave Hyean is a nice switch, though I will miss the cameo features or is that still optional? I love your designs, they're simple yet in a way original. Can't wait to see future pictures of your new fursona :)
I understand how changing your fursona can be beneficial to your mental health. I've changed mine this past weekend too. I'm normally really awkward about explaining my emotional thoughts and my logic publicly on the internet but I can see a lot of benefits this is going to have for me.
Anyway, I really like this design. I'm glad Soldiers' colours are still similar to your previous fursona, I've always liked that lightest one. I'm excited to see images she's in.

Yes I saw her new refs pop up in my inbox. Niceness. :3
See, I find it easier to speak through my fursona than to express my feelings with like... text or words. Artwork is just so much more primal for me that it seems to be more accurate. That's why I feel like how you treat your fursona, as an artist, must do something to your mental state internally, you know?
Ah I dunno what I'm saying. Thanks for the comment Keilidh. x3

May take some getting use to, as I've only known you with old Avy, but this is definitely an improvement! C:
I absolutely adore her new design, it's so much more, I don't know, badass, I guess? xD The hair really pops and I love how you kept a little bit of her old design. Overall, I look to more art of Sol and will love drawing her in the future :3

My Grandparents art neat about it x3 My grand-dad is able to fix computers. He took a bunch of classes on modern technology; they have neat computers I could never afford for any reason. Even if I do publish a book or two. x3' Maybe I could start putting my writing up here O_O -sadly just thought of this-
I can. The secret is to go to the Google main page. They have a wonderful feature called a Search Bar, where you can type in the program you're using and what you want to do in it, and it will give you tutorials that tell you how. It's some kind of magic I tell you.
But no seriously, just do a google search for cell shading tutorials. Though I warn that it's impossible to learn how to cell shade before you know how to shade normally. Soft shading is actually the easier of the two. Cell shading is just Soft shading simplified, so if you learn to soft shade first, cell shading is pretty much identical in concept. By comparison, it's very difficult to turn cell shading into soft shading. It's like learning how to run before you can walk, taking the shortcut before you know where you're going. Take the long way around first. You can take the shortcut lap 2.
