I saw all the episodes of the series I could lay my paws on. And I loved them! Yes, animation is simpler and such... But, to quote Po, 'That. Was. Awesome!'
I actually think Peng's kinda cute. But why isn't there any fanart for that kid?
Yeah, I know, the creators left us with a cliff-hanger, and I can't wait to see how Po's gonna handle the situation and how's Peng gonna react to his uncle being dead and such... And what kind of relationship he has with Tai-Lung anyway?
By the way, I knew he had to be Tai-Lung's nephew about five seconds after he appeared X)
If ghosts do exist in the world... Well, I can't see why Tai-Lung won't pay his nephew a visit? The kid's talented and Po trusts him... A great way to have revenge, don't you think?

I'm not even sure the kid knew what his uncle was like. If Peng knew about the 'learning Kung Fu' part, then he would've definately started his search from Jade Palace. If he knew the 'criminal' thing then the prison it is... If he knew about the break-out... still, he'd be likely to check the Jade Palace just for clues. But this way, it seems to me, he knows only of Tai Lung's name and species. And that he's a relative...
I'm wondering why they left such a cliff-hanger, actually. Yeah, in series sometimes villains swear to take revenge and that's a cliff-hanger too. But it doesn't need immediate actions to be shown. But in this case they actually left somewhere, where immediate action is needed: Po's answer, Peng's explaination for his search... That's not fair!
was it ever stated that Tai Lung is dead? Because to my knowledge, and I did some digging around on this part, the Wushi Finger-hold was developed as a final way to say "give up" and not intended to kill, and if it was never brought up in the television series, then who's to say that Tai Lung isn't just soul-searching and trying to find his own path to enlightenment?

Well, it wasn't said 'died' or 'dead' but... Well, first off, he'd still be a criminal. And I think that way the Rhino from 'Rhino Revenge' wouldn't have had a reason to accuse Po of getting rid of the 'only prisoner'. Second... where's Tail Lung after Po uses the finger-hold? It's more like he's gone. Well, donno. It seems to be that way. I just think Tai Lung is stated to be 'gone' or 'defeated' and not 'dead' because a) it's still a children series; and b) Po wouldn't look all that heroic if he was a killer, would he?

Managed Peng better than Tai Lung, though, I guess. Tai Lung is much more complicated when it comes to shapes ^^*
You know, I'm not really sure if I want him alive or not.
On the one hand, he's quite a charismatic villain who could actually fit neatly into the 'antihero' category if need be. On the other hand... well, I don't like the 'superhero death' trope much as it's really over-used so much it gets annoying.
So I'm somewhere in between on this.

I'm pretty sure that he never knew Tai Lung personally.
In the first movie, it is shown that Shifu started training a very young looking master tigress after Tai Lung was locked up.
In KFP2 Master Tigress said she had been punching iron wood trees for twenty years. This implies that she is at the very least 20 years old, most likely 25-30.
Peng looks like a preteen by KFP universe standards.
