as a total fangirl, I'd say do give the series a try some time
it's silly and gross and brutal and makes absolutely no sense...
but it has a very thought-through story and background going on, which is something few cartoons can claim
it's... rather unique in its way and at least worth giving it a try
i'm really happy you like it and most of the depth you feel has only been adopted from the original universe and story X)
