First of all like you noticed the old submission got removed~
Guess why? We had no real picture for the game <w>; So if anyone would like to provide us a front picture for this misery that isn't plain text... it is very appreciated. Btw. please comment again, since every comment and information is lost and I can't reconstruct who commented and who not.
If you could re-comment it would be very appreciated.
Thank you for the patience.
How to be a predator...?
A serious question for our main protagonist who met a friend; a friend that tantalized him with tales of the jots of being a predator. A "game" like no other, to play with strangers (Unless you've got too many friends), a screaming and struggling contest of strength and surprise... and if the predator plays well enough, perhaps the prey would decide to be their friend, and stay forever...
That is what Zola, an impressionable little fox, was told. Naturally, the explanation appealed to his playful, social nature, and he gains a new ambition... Unaware of the just how serious an endeavour predation was, he sees it as a game; a passtime for entertainment and fun, rather than a fight to the death.
The story begins in Calyx's apartment, where Zola nervously paces back and forth. Being a humble fox, Zola is incapable of predation on the same scale as the wolf; unless Zola can find a way to overcome the limitations of his body, he would always be weak, vulnerable... prey.
It is said that nothing worth having comes easily, and Zola's goal is no different. your target is to help Zola and his friends to survive... or perhaps not -- this time, the choice is yours.
This game is a text based adventure game, which is being worked on by several persons currently. The outcome of text and happenings variate on how you approach them. On the bottom line you find yourself a sort of Menu that suggests you what you can do with things like "Ask Calyx about predator" or type simply "Speak with Calyx" to get a row of options you can ask him out about.
Try to look at things with "Look at <object name>" to investigate or fiddle around with the commands that are offered. If you got suggestions what you want to have added or what should be possible or what is missing, comment below and let me know. Also don't forget to command and tell us what you think, it will help us to keep us going to work further on it. It will be a huge open world game, with lots of stuff to explore and riddles to solve.
Keep an eye out for journals we open, cause we will search for volunteers to fill spots for our game.
P.s.: Re comment please with suggestions and how you like the game.

*Chuckles* The ideas are good Draco and yourself gives for sure good ideas for side plots to follow. There will be transformations yes, so to speak the player can change his being later on. Keep an eye out for the raffles about the spots, though I'm discussion with Calyx right now how we handle people that could have their own story string. The raffles are rather for NPC's to be set.
*laughs* well, generally, what I do when I beta test is I bug hunt. I go and find things that *SHOULD* work, but might now work flawlessly - then once I find it, I make note of it. I jokingly refer to it as "breaking things" because I actively look for those types of small glitches that should be fixed (sorta like the Infinte Trick Spot in THPS1 XD)
It does work on all Systems, the program itself is browser based and should be played in a browser that has java script installed. The file is a .rar simply unzip it with winrar to get the files extracted. :3
The file you get is a zipped file, try to unzip it with winrar for example.

Which browser is best? Firefox is being stupid and such and dunno how to get it to play on 'Net Explorer.
Also when I unzip it and hit "play" it shows a blank white screen with "loading" then under that it is this.

I'll certainly be keeping an eye out for one of those "pred NPC" spots.. X3 maybe as someone that can train the main character how to still be agile with all of that weight |3
As for testing.. I seem to have gotten stuck on the laptop part. I ask it about the code but all it says is "no response." I've done everything else possible. XP

looks fun... i will defiantly give it a try. Coding my own tech demo text adventure in C++ which mostly centers around a muffin and lots of puns. XP
I will let you know what i find while playing (bugs and such). Also will get a Linux VM up to test compatibility.
Also try and maybe get in on that raffle, hehe.
Best of luck, let me know it i can help.
~linkthegamer, give the nummy cookie of noms to Zalir

Sadly I can't do big exceptions at all if no spot is available that the person fits towards. I would need to edit the story as far as it is to make a spot. But he can still take part on the gambles for the random spots, when a spot appears in the story that fits good to him I will send him a note.
Pretty great start for a game, I'd say, although I've only gotten out of the apartment, can't seem to figure out how to actually get into 102..
Oh, nevermind, suddenly I've gotten into Drax's room. Really shoulda tried everything first, or looked at that map or whatever, that probably had info on it.
Anyway yeah! Great start, can't wait to see more, entered the raffle and all that. :3

We heard already about drax laptop, thanks for confirmation! ^.^ Yeah Calyx apartment is quite dangerous O.o we used it as sandbox to test different scripted scenes to see if we can port the story how we have planned it. Our Source code does even allow to port other peoples storyline into the game as side plots, which is very cool for sure. ^.^!
And I should stop speaking in plural <.>; I'm currently the only coder. *coughs*

To give my two cents on design: it might be best to avoid "surprise deaths", otherwise it feels like you're being punished for doing something you thought was completely innocent and reasonable. Most notably, I'm talking about what happens when you use the bathdtub (it's only one of two deaths I've found so far). I mean, that kinda came out of nowhere. At least the flower gave you time to think and you kinda had to do something stupid to die. There should always be a hint that something might be a bad idea if it's not obvious, even if said hint is subtle or easy to overlook.
It's rare to see a good text based game, and barring a few grammer issues, this is looking quite promising. I look forward to seeing where you're going with this, as I've been interested in seeing a good, legitimate vore themed game for a while now, and this fits the bill. I'm really curious to see how things play out once Zola can actually eat people, as, of course, I input "eat Calyx" to see what would happen, and thought it cute.

Thank you for roaming around and letting me know what you think! ^.^ I agree that the surprise death was a little evil. It was a test I did with a certain script to see if it works, in the end I left it in cause it remind me a bit on the old "Kings Quest" series. Most times in the game there won't be sudden deaths of yours just by entering stuff. So there might happens scripted events for your followers, everything is in planning phase really and we orientate on our capabilities and what might suits the moment. For example if you get soft stomped by a dragon, it would be silly to announce "Hey there will be a surprise stomp!". But yes there won't be may surprise deaths of the Player at all if any, without indicating in some way that it is dangerous.
Once Zola reached the possibility to eat others, he can eat quite a few but not everyone of course. So I won't spoiler here too much about possibilities yet. I don't want to ruin the fun on trying out. ^.^; Once the outside region is open, I will explain more how the Open World part works.

Oh, I'm sure that trying to eat the wrong people will likely result in Zola getting eaten instead. Just because he's vore capable doesn't mean he's the best or biggest pred on the block.
I guess the semi-random deaths might appeal to some gamers (King's Quest did make use of a lot of them I believe, at least the earlier ones), and player's do have the option to "undo", so it's not like there's really even a penalty for falling for a "surprise death scene". So maybe it's not so bad, and it does kinda show just a dangerous a vore filled world can be. I'm just waiting for an employee of the potion shop to say, "yeah, we've got the potion, but it needs to be restocked. Just follow me into the back room and I'll get it for you." Followed by Zola never being seen again.

We will add a narrator to the game to add some nifty comments on death scenes. Also I might leave some insta deaths in, but rather giving hints that they could appear. Or giving at least 1 or 2 rounds to leave before it happens.
It's funny... I try to get the game a bit of a Kings Quest touch here and there, but I doubt I will be able to succeed with it. Nothing can reach on the glory of the old Kings Quest games. <3
And thanks for the nice idea with the potion shop. ;3

Apartment 102 is currently under construction ^.^; we are sorry for that~
Thank you for reporting the issue with the laptop, we will fix that! O= It worked before the grammar check on the code... Maybe just a line that went wrong. If you move east and then north from that room you can find Drax, he is might a better help then a currently closed door. ^.^;

I will open a FAQ for the game soon ^w^ that would be a wonderful question to start with ;3
You need to sacrifice something living to the Fridge, since yourself is not the best option if you want to continue, try to look east from the main room in the Kitchen for some cheese to lure the mouse out of the hole in the bedroom south of the main room.

Well if you consider it cruel to Give Drax to Calyx O.o
It's a vore game after all so the definition of "Cruel" might apply to some things if the pred is a dominant one. I'm thinking about having some characters being able to reform, but mainly it won't be possible depending on the pred. Cause a decision without any influence on the later happening, is not a decision at all or is it?
Your supposed to keep Drax alive anyway O.o and not to feed him to stuff.

I Know Its A Vore Game, But Being Able To Feed Your Friend To Another Is Indeed A Little Cruel, But That's Just Me!
I'm Guessing That If Drax Dies, You get The Bad Ending?
But If You Really Need Drax For An Important Puzzle or Something Later In The Game, Then you Should Be Able To Bring Him Back Some Way, Or The Game Would Simply Become Un-Winnable...

That's already in plan, he won't make the game unsolvable, those who would do will re-appear but I try to avoid that people feed Drax to everything they find, making him more important by being able to loose him. It's really difficult, since I don't want that People Feed Drax to stuff over and over @w@
I think That you should be able to find a Tool that would let you -Attempt- Rescues. Depending on how much the pred likes ya. A pass-fail thing. XD I was hoping for that in this game. XD
In any case, Being able to attempt would be fun. Whether it succeeds or not would depend one or two things. Like Say.. did you do things the pred likes about ya, or how strong are ya?

You mean for "How to be a predator"
or Pokedate?
In any cases this is possible to be programmed in, it would require a huge amount of more actions to be executed though. :)
So it would sort of trash the whole previous concept and requires to re-think a lot of what is already done but I keep it in mind for further progressing.
As I'm going to have story branching soon (like 5 path ways) in How to be a Predator that is a very likely way to attempt it!

I'm thinking about to set up a Journal that I can update for the progress that is coming along. So people know what to expect and what not. So there will be a lot to be expected in the game, we are currently around 4 coder and 3 writer on the game. Since everyone of us works on different spaces the game get's more variety~ :3
If you would like to join the team, let me know. ^w^

This link provides a good tutorial I think http://brasslantern.org/writers/how.....7tutorial.html and the offer won't expire don't worry. ^w^

I've been rather busy in RL but will be uploading a Journal and schedules either today or tomorrow on both accounts.
