"Graceful, dynamic and swift,
It gently encircles me in a soothing embrace.
Now, with a clear and open mind
I shall go where ever the wind may carry me."
Part of a project started by Strype. It's still one of my favourites so I'm uploading here too.
This piece was fun to work on. It's been a long time since I painted out a landscape like this and I really like the idea of the character being rather small in relation to the background in such a composition. The wind effect itself was an interesting experiment which I think I pulled off nicely.
One landscape, one element, a dance.

p.s. if you notice any pixelation on the image it's due to a watermark being in place.

This is probably one of the nicest looking images I've seen - no joke. The color choices you chose for the background are just incredible, and I love the composition with the character and his weapon. :D And awesome grass, it really adds that windy feeling the way you did it. Great work!
The only weapon forms I ever "learned" were some basic Jo and katana forms. I've got a bokken here that I need to start practicing with so I can start learning it properly.
(For the record, I almost said "get back into the swing of it" before I realised it sounds like a bad pun)
