Way over your head.
The Skyrim picture is based off of something that Im actually doing for shits and giggles, plus part of the on going "memes". I told my friend about this and she just pointed out that it might be offensive to some of the gay community as well as other mentions in the comic strip. She pointed that this image is a "joke" images that pokes fun at the gay community as well as gay marriage. She also states that people will get the wrong idea and miss the "joke" completely, taking the image more as an attack or hate-image to one's beliefs. All truth, she makes a well valid argument, but that was never the meaning of the image itself. For those who haven't played Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, not only can you get married in this game, you can also pick a male OR female no matter what sex your character is. To me, that is just pure AWESOMENESS and also being Bi-Sexual myself. Its like almost promoting gay marriage which I fully support. So, I wanted to draw a strong warrior character ( the helmet horned guy ) wearing a rainbow wedding band on his finger. Yes it suggest gay marriage in Skyrim and also a bit "off" on a strong Nord viking warrior, but thats the topic/joke/idea/concept however you want to put it. Plus, it might be an image that Ill submit to the GameInformer Magazine art contest.
The conversation went to the Skyrim joke to just art in general. No matter what you draw or write or sing, someone will find it very offensive in ways that you never thought of. They'll point out "connections" to the image that appears to be offensive to them and point fingers at the creator calling it a hate-crime. In the past, some of my images did piss off a few viewers because they saw something in my images that they find it offensive to them/their beliefs etc. I simply tell them that I never had such harmful intentions when drawing it and it just came out on a whim or they completely missed the whole point of the image. Its all what the viewer sees. A picture has a thousand unseen meanings and messages.
There is a level of humor that EVERYONE needs to be aware of. There is Tame humor that is not mean to offend anyone, and there is Harsh humor that is strictly told to offend a vast majority of people.
For Example of Tame Humor: A character of George Bush with a small head and large ears or depicted as a monkey. Something like that can be offensive to some but not to the vast majority. This running on joke was done countless times by artists, comedians, TV shows etc.
An Example of Harsh Humor: Someone yelling BOMB in an airport or on a plane, or making a comic about 9/11. This is a bit more serious since that event cost the lives of thousands of lives and due to security in the country, it would just be pure asinine to make a joke about such an event or even joke that you do have a bomb in your suitcase. Political posters of Obama with a Hilter mustache: ALSO something that I believe personally to be WAY too far and also filled so so much negative meanings that it just sickens me and all I see there is a Hate-Crime.
These are just my small examples of Tame and Harsh humor. It is subject to debate or comparison. You need to be careful on what you create and display. You can't please everyone. But if you're going to make something that does provoke a large amount of hatred and anger from hundreds of people, you need to double think on what you might create.
That is just my 2 cents about the topic.
P.S: This is the first time I drew an angry bunny.

If people can't take a joke and get offended then that is their problem, not yours. You don't have to censor everything you say in order to prevent offence. People will take offence at all sorts of things, even the idea of gay marriage is offensive to some people. If gays are going to ask to air pro-homosexuality views even if those people find it offensive then, in return, they must tolerate the views of others that they find offensive.
Incidentally you can play as gay or bi in Fallout and Dragon Age as well. Think most of the free rpgs are doing it now.

Angry flushed face is well done :o
But never let a girl tell you what gay guys are like.
I worked with an anthropologist who was going around the US interviewing gays and trans FTMs. He said he always had a difficult time being accepted because in his small hometown he couldn't tell people he was gay, and in the gay bars guys would say 'who let the straight guy in here' or 'stop all the straight-acting, and relax' based on his clothing, face, voice, personality, etc.
He tried all his life to "be more gay" so gay guys would recognize him as a potential date. Now he stopped being so fake and acts like himself rather than acts like what others expect him to be.
He goes around talking to everyone and asking what their idea of "gay" is, and how you could possibly be expected to tell that from the outside.
I personally fall in love with guys who don't 'act' gay or 'act' straight, exaggerate swishy effeminate movements, or force a lifelong lisp. I want guys to dress as they feel comfortable and if they wanna avoid rainbows like the plague, or wear them every day, I support them!
The best info I ever got was a man being gay and a gay man living for the LGBT community can be two diff people. I finally could relax knowing it was okay that I avoided parades, marches, and events because it was my own opinion/comfort level, and had nothing to do with straight people in my past or present telling me how I should live and think.

You know, when i saw this I didn't think it was a joke at alll. Talk about steriotyping. A LOT of gay men are the rough and tough type. Seriously, just becasue a guy acts a little girly dosen't make them gay. Neither does acting tough make them straight. I think people need to grow up.
Personally, i know a few gay people who would look at this and want to enjoy it for the art that it is. Rah, yeah. They WISH they could get a rainbow ring in the game. And now i do too.

Make a badass Overnord.
Lord over all of Skyrim with an iron fist.
Legendary Daedric equipment coming out of every orifice.
Thane of all the holds.
And a hot husband waiting back at the mansion.
"The Overnord is so manly that no women would do, so he had to take a man for his wife."

Funny, the angry bunny is arguing against "bigotry" towards gays while promoting their own narrow and inaccurate stereotype. Gay people are not cookie-cutter clones of each other. You want offensive, I'd suggest the general portrayal of gay characters in most media, where the typical method of showing someone is gay is to camp them up. I've seen far more people who would fit in that Skyrim picture than would fit the camp-gay stereotype! I assume that part of this was created for the comic, rather than from the friend, though (I hope)?
I would also note that jokes about airport bombs are often just well meaning (but still incredibly ill-advised) attempts at "gallows humor", ie, someone making jokes to try and minimize their own fear of looming immediate death down to a more manageable size. A lot of people find comfort in hearing that kind of joke, but many others get enraged or terrified or otherwise distressed/hurt by it because for them it only sets off the same instinctual alarms as someone genuinely threatening to do these things.
