So here's a paint test I did for the graphic novel. I'm testing a few different styles that I'd like to go with. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make this one work without a lot more experimentation though, since it kinda took me a while. I figured I'd share it with you all anyway.

I think I remember Blotch saying for Nordguard it takes them about 40 hours of work per page to complete. I'm not saying this as a critique of them in anyway (because the style of Nordguard IS awsome) but from a reader's perspective it almost hurts :P Only because we have to wait two more years before we get to see what happens next, and the first one was already a short (but beautiful) affair.
