A commission for
coyotero of his peg-legged pirate. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get the markers to cooperate and create the colour that I had on the reference, but some careful layering of tan, caramel, burnt sienna and a variety of warm greys got the job done. Whew!

That's a bit what I was going for with the unfinished edges. Thanks! I was a bit worried about being able to cut out the character from the background but then I decided to go with richer browns for the background and the grey for the pirate, it all came together. I like the sepia comparison, you're right!
My markers are very good to me. I love them lots :D

I have never had the luck to bend so well with them though. I just get a mess, even with the really nice ones. Best one I ever did was doing the Ginyu Force for a class in college because my teacher hated Dragon Ball Z, aha. Got an A on it, but still, was funny with all those weird skin colors.
I'm just not talented =)
Well, more like I can't do super fine motor skills like painting the models i want to paint or draw anything that I want draw because of hand tremors on par of Parkinson's in the middle stages. Nerve damage in both hands from them smashed by a car door. Mmm, good thing I can still use them both though otherwise, aha.
