Sucks a bit to have a fursona that changes so drastically when you live in the shadowy edges of this fandom, where it's hard to have a recognizable "face" in the first place, but it's just not something I can avoid.
My life takes dramatic turns here and there. When that happens, I look at my self depictions in these forms and find myself detached from them. Not because they didn't serve their purpose, but because they inadvertently represent a time and state of being that I left behind. The essence of "Adele" has never changed. Floof, giant ears, big sloth claws, a long muzzle. Her silhouette if you will. Something about dipping her in bleach and reworking her palette is therapeutic to me though. In a way, I can reinvent her into whatever I've reinvented myself into, and the connection will remain, instead of a repellent.
When my life changes, it's generally because I'm leaving something unwanted behind. For that reason, I leave old!Adele behind too.
For the record, that doesn't devalue gifts and goodies that I've received over the years where old!Adeles are featured. In many ways, I embrace the pleasant and meaningful aspects of my past, and I would never seek to forget the good things I went through. The change is intended, as always, to be a from-here-on-out alteration.

I know where you're coming from, I go through drastically different 'sona designs every few years. It's a process of evolution, I think. You have a fuzzy picture when you start out, not sure what exactly fits and just going on a whim with designs that feel right. But as time goes on you find more specific things, more mature ideas that can only come from life experience. IT'S ALL QUITE INTERESTING and quite normal, I think.
Regardless, love the changes. C: Same old Sloof, just refined and fine-tuned and looking quite excellent.

I gave up a long time ago through all the characters and just decided to have a shape-shifter.~
I know how you feel about life's wonderful paths, but you just gotta keep treading them and adapting to all the new terrain you walk over. Sorry I'm so aloof, but if you ever need an ear to talk to or a shoulder for some support you let me know. ^^

I have great admiration for you as an artist and as a friend, and if it makes you feel better, I take comfort in you being ~aloof~ because I can be too and it typically scares franz away because they think I don't give a damn about them or their friendship because of my general absence and failure at regular interaction. <3
SO I CAN ONLY ASSUME maybe it works both ways for us. :>
That being said, it's always nice to know I'm not the only one constantly undergoing a transformation. Sal (Adele) has always been something of a shapeshift monster, but a core design of some sort to trace back to is somewhat important to me, so I always try to at least have that somewhere. :>
