Something just for fun,and also as a tribute. This is how A & Q might have looked if they had been drawn by the Animators of Filmation studios, who produced some of my favorite TV cartoon series as a kid growing up in the late '60s and into the 1970's.
Founded in 1963 by Norm Prescott and Lou Scheimer,Filmation was for over two decades second only to Hanna-Barbera as a world famous producer of Animation for TV.Their style of drawing characters was very simple, clean and appealing, contrasted with beautifully rendered backgrounds.Filmation was also notorious for recycling animation, background music, and in some cases character designs!
Because of this, their work has often been derided as cheap and shoddy by animation scholars, but in fact, these economizing measures were done so that Filmation could keep their animators in this country employed at a decent wage, rather than farming out the work overseas. The cartoons Filmation made were genuinely entertaining and well written, and many still hold up well today.Filmation was adept at both action/adventure and comedy, with such diverse shows as THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, THE ARCHIES,FAT ALBERT AND THE COSBY KIDS, and what was without a doubt their crowning acheivement, their animated version of STAR TREK,which won an emmy award and featured stories completely faithful to the original live action series.Filmation also had a genuine and sincere commitment to instilling good values in children as well as entertaining them, thus at the end of many of their shows,a "Moral" or "Life lesson" to the story would be delivered to the viewer by one of the show's characters,in a manner children could understand without talking down to them.
Filmation was in business until the late 1980's,their last big hit series being HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE and SHE-RA,PRINCESS OF POWER.

Don't forget the 1967 cartoon of Spiderman and if you go back even further Hercules and Rocket Robinhood which is the same group of artist under the name Krantz studio which later became Filmation. Since Krantz was the inital name of the studio a few friends of mine and myself have coined the style as "Krantz animation"
Ummm..I think you might be a little confused...Gantray-Lawrence was the studio that did ROCKET ROBIN HOOD,SPIDERMAN and the other Marvel cartoons, and Filmation was already established for three or four years by then, and as far as I know there was never any connection between the two studios, but maybe you know some more history that I don't. O.O
Sounds good to me. A & Q would be right at home on Adult Swim!
By the way, where does somebody go to pitch their ideas? It seems to me that many shows are inside deals, where you basically have to be working for the network or studio for them to listen... but I could be wrong about that.

Gotta love the old cartoons.
The cartoon I'm going to miss the most isn't too old but I still loved it. it was Archie's weird mysteries.
teletoon (canada's cartoon network) used to broadcast the show from 2000 to 2005. I already miss it. T_T
I say: kick off bratz and the boondocks and put back Archie's weird mysteries and south park's early seasons!
;-;

yeah x.x
I've heard there's going to be a "teletoon retro" but it's officialy going to be devoted to vintage anime "that is at least 10 years old".
This translates into: get ready to watch pokemon, sailor moon and dragon ball everyday." XD
still, I can't believe stuff like bratz is even allowed to exist. those business men must really think we're retards uh? :c

Well remember that all executives consider the viewers to be morons, that's why so much junk is on TV today. That's especially true with regards to those below the age of 18, especially preteens. They feel they've no brains and therefore supply material of a brainless nature. Need some very heavy lobbying of them to get decent material back on the air.
I have to confess, and I hope you do not take that as an offense, that I never liked this cartoon series. The dialogues were (even more in German) clumsy and stiff, and so were the drawings...But perhaps they are a cult items in the USA, like several comic series in Germany...
What's odd is how they DON'T want to treat the animated series as continuity with the overall series but keep in other stuff that really should be discarded. The animation was great, and yes you got to see plenty of action and good learning lessons for the kids that the politically correct garbage can't and don't teach, yet they wonder why the kids turn out so bad. Need a public network and NOT restricted to cable and satellite that would run those old cartoons uncut for kids today and bring back some real values.
