I felt like such a jerk for having to ask a Resident Worker how to translate this sign, lol! I feel like an even bigger jerk for actually finishing this picture, but I made a fool out of myself for requesting a translation, so I may as well make the most of it!
If that's not too clear, that's supposed to be a sombrero with a bite taken out of it!
Awhile back, someone on a local radio show suggested emailing Rick Perry on how to further protect the borders by suggesting to flood the Rio Grande with piranahs. Lo and behold, a month later we had our first piranah attack near the Texas/ New Mexico border.. coincidence?? hmmm!

You just conjugated the verb incorrectly."Puedo" is the first-person singular form of the verb "poder", which means "to be able".
The sign should read "No Pueden Nadar", or "You(plural) Can't Swim", since "pueden" is the second-person plural conjugation. In Latin American Spanish, that is.

Culturally insensitive... so illegal immigration IS part of Mexico's culture? I see it as a joke, a bit groan-worthy but not moreso than jokes about white people's inability to dance, black people and 'Bling', or native americans and casinos.
Sorry if I come-off as a bit snippy, but the current immigration debate has alot of people walking on eggshells. A key reason I think is the continued misconception that a key factor in the debate is wether or not one likes or dislikes Mexico and/or Mexicans.

I don't even see how you could cultivate piranahs and introduce them into a brand new eco system.
I mean I've done it with catfish from one side of Lake Arlington to another but thats only about 20 miles in difference.
Moving piranahs from the Amazon hundreds of miles north to the Rio Grande had to have been a feat!
