Sherilyn Voltaire grew up in a wealthy family with a long line of battle arena tradition that traces it's history back to nobility, a fact that she is not soon to let anybody forget. Sherilyn began training at a very early age, both in her species' electrical attacks as well as a variety of other techniques. Her diverse training ensured that she would not be too reliant on any one battle strategy, and her versatility is still her strongest asset today.

In a further attempt to broaden her horizons she was sent to the Kanto region to live with her aunt and attend one of the more prestigious schools there, the Poke-Combat Academy of Higher Learning. She excelled at both her studies and her preliminary arena battles, and soon came into the position of leader of Team Cobalt. Sherilyn, along with her donphan teammate "Big Eddie" Fane and skorupi brothers Harris and Geoff, made quite an impact within her grade, rivaling others such as Team Green, Team White, Team Summit, and Team Jet. Sherilyn was personally a very strong rival of Nicole Blackclaw due to the manectric's own intelligence and training, and Sherilyn made enemies out of both Zap and Rayon when she pitted them against each other in a battle for her affections, only to spurn both of them in a rather humiliating fashion for being "Narcissistic, self-absorbed jackasses".

However, tragedy would strike down Team Cobalt just prior to the start of senior year when brothers Harris and Geoff were killed in a boating accident during their summer vacation. Sherilyn and Edward decided to retire the team out of respect to their lost friends rather than try to find replacements, which their hearts weren't into anyway. Thus far Sherilyn has declined to join any other teams, and the administration has honored her sentiment.

Sherilyn has competed in several solo battles but has largely been forgotten by the power players of the P.C.A. She doesn't intend to let it stay that way for long. When she led Team Cobalt she was just as cunning, shrewd, and scheming as any of the other team leaders, and as the power plays and politics begin to unfold in the new year she definitely has a role to play. But exactly what that role will be is anyone's guess. Sherilyn is very confident and self-assured, traits which have earned a reputation for general bitchiness. She demands and expects respect from others, but is actually quite friendly if approached sincerely and not by someone with an agenda, which unfortunately doesn't happen often.

Sherilyn has undergone rigorous training in not only the mastery of her electrical powers but in several other combat arts, specializing in a rare style of kickboxing unique to her homeland. Sherilyn is very intelligent and observant both in and out of the arena, it's hard to get anything by her. She has a number of rivalries throughout the senior class and remains a wild card as to which ones she will pursue and stick her nose into.
