He was wearing a heavy gold chain around his neck, with a gaudy jewel hanging from it, and his claws-a good six inches long- were each covered in gold leaf. The effect was one of enormous strength and energy and craft; he was quite big enough to carry the absured overdecoration; on him it didn't look preposterous, it looked barbaric and magnificant.
She quailed. Suddenly her idea seemed too feeble for words. But she moved a little closer, because she had to, and then she saw that Iofur was holding something on his knee, as a human might let a cat sit there-or a dæmon.

Wh00t a caption form the book to go with it!!! So yes when I read that last night I had to draw it :P I'll be colouring it on the computer sometime this week. I drew and inked this in my sketchbook this evening. I suck at drawing man made things I need to fix my perspective I know I know LOL. And I messed up his foot facing front >.<. I just wanted to draw the bear with his manikin dæmon :P You have to read the book to understand what a dæmon is >.>

*Ahem* I finished the book last night and I started the second book in the trilogy today.
