Methinks you captured two of the greatest things about maws and mawshots here...
You have the deep throat going into darkness, and you have the puffy, warm, and soft looking muscles and flesh that would guide prey inwards. <3

I saw it pointed out about the teeth further above, it might not have been important if it was just a warmup but I was surprised you didnt give the teeth more specularity. Still, awesome job!

It was all done in Photoshop, though sometimes I do sketch on paper and color on the computer.

My tip is: to start practicing! :D

I am not very good so getting to this level is not very hard at all. I just say go for it and try, you'd be surprised at the result!
