I really like the Foxhounds, though I prefer the English because....I like heavier dogs. For all their hunting history, foxhounds are social creatures, and you hear either side of the coin, they're either prey driven, or extremely social and loyal to the animals that they grow up with. Most often the latter. The breeds follow their noses, not so much their eyes. And they are kept in large packs without much, if any, squabbling.
It's really a shame that both the American and the English are so incredibly rare. Though they do require a good amount of exercise, and can be...well, typical hounds, the breeds have a really gentle nature. I've been considering an English heavily lately, though I'm concerned about the possible bitching I may get for having a breed that was bred to trail foxes within the fandom. -.-
