While walking along one of the many trails in Petit Jean State Park, we found this guy. Look carefully at the forest litter to get a sense of scale. He is tiny, maybe a total of 8 inches long.
The local Ranger identified him as a Spreadding Adder based on the puffy "hood" he had behind his head.
