From Russia, With Lust Part 1.
This is basically going to be a running sketch comic, co-created/written by my fiance and I. I'll post pages as I see fit, and we'll see if I can keep something going during tax season this year. Essentially it's about Cody's uncle and cousin, who re-establish contact with the Frosts after many years. While it's a spin-off of sorts of i.s.o., it will NOT be published and it will likely never make it beyond these sketch comics. But it's something fun to kill time with, and I like working with Devon, so we're just going to see where it goes.
This is part one, introducing Vlad. I make no claims to being completely accurate to Russian history or the KGB, just messing around (and enjoying the sexy stereotypes). And...those of you wondering what the whole James Bond image was about last week...after coming up with the scenario we just had to design what Bond would look like as a furry. Technically he's based on the Pierce Brosnan version, which Dev and I agree is the overall sexiest on all counts, though truly Roger Moore would've fit better chronologically. At any rate, the secret agent here (who may or may not get an official name) will probably pop up a couple times in the future. He's a nice way to kick things off. And really, with Bond always banging all those women, why wouldn't he want to see what the receiving end is like?

O_O Vladimir's gay?! *blinks* I guess heritage works wonders with the Frost Family (don't ask, I'm a genetic geek when it comes to learn about your heritage and all.. well, not really) ^^;;;
Would Vlad growl at me, just like Cody, if I call him "cute 'n' fluffy kitty"? *grins*

Okay, gotta get this out of the way quick. Roger Moore sucks as James Bond. XD
Alright, so if this is the early 80's, and assuming that ISO takes place in present day, Vladimir must've been about in his early twenties during this. Seems not much in him has changed in regards to his appearance, which shows all the more how he takes care of himself well.
The whole rivarly/lover thing with the British secret agent is actually kinda funny and even cute. Kill each other or boink each other. Boink sounds like the more fun one, yeah. Who knows what could be the trigger to push them into kill only territory, though. lol
Back to the age thing, if Vladimir is in his early twenties here, that means it took him a few years more to have Georgiy. Georgiy is 21, Vladimir's 53, so he had Georgiy at age 32. And if he's always been gay, it does make one wonder just what led to him finally getting it on with a woman... if he got it on with a woman, that is. Who knows about artificial insemination. Yeah, I'm reading a lot into this, I know...

I'm sure Moore is totally not Vlad's type anyway It's also interesting that I'm pretty sure Pierce Brosnan is iRL the correct age to match Vlad.
I've essentially set i.s.o. in the mid-2000's, when it was created, so there's a few years' lag here. But yes, he was an agent in his prime, and is still holding up well.
But what do they do when the Iron Curtain falls
You'll see more about Georgiy shortly!

Nice to see a bit of timeline there. Not entirely specific, but specific enough.
As for how Georgiy was conceived, I really hope it's at least a positive thing. I find that when it comes to gay male parents in furry, the mother either gets vilified or just left totally out of the loop.

Oh my god I love you for this <3 but on a serious note this is awesome. In Russia it's a bit more prejudice against gay people like me especially if you're native. So my family still doesn't know entirely because of this, but just makes me feel good that some Russians get a happy ending you know, specially with bond <3 where's the deleted scene for that ;P
Maybe he is blind and uses ultrasonic sounds like a bat... ooooo, KGB experiments XD XD XD
Apparently we do! ^.^
Yes, Asyr would always finish a job with a Bond One Liner instead of just cold efficiency. (His face muscles still work as opposed to Vlad's.)
Like I said, it might be very interesting to listen to a conversation if those two meet. :-D

As soon as I knew Vlad was a former KGB agent, let alone the Bond connection, I knew what the title of this piece would have to be. Or at least the most likely one.
I don't think anyone minds if this is neither available to buy nor anything more than just a sketch comic. Aside from the fact your art is always awesome, and that we'll just be happy to get to see it at all, the possibilities for these characters and their stories are, if not endless then at least quite substantial. And hot.
*grins* Of course he got it on with Bond; the fellow was so oversexed to begin with it's not hard to imagine extending that to men as well. As for how he produced Georgiy, aside from what's already been suggested about homosexuality in Russia, there are many, many men of that generation who were gay but got married and had kids anyway, because it was the expected thing to do in society and there was so much stigma against being gay. Sometimes the wives knew, but allowed it since it wasn't with other women (or didn't like it at all but stayed with them for the sake of the children), and sometimes they didn't and received quite a shock when, later in life, the acceptance of gays caused their husbands to come out of the closet and divorce them.
Anyway, long story short, just because a man is gay doesn't mean he can't have children--it's possible to get it up through simple stimulation and then force yourself to do the deed, even if you aren't attracted to women, though clearly it wouldn't be enjoyable for such men. And as I said, there's precedence. So I'm not really surprised. In fact I'm glad that people don't always assume gay men would never have children, especially from that generation.
Will be interesting to find out about Vlad and his glasses. Does he wear them solely to intimidate others, or is it so they can't see his eyes and therefore read his vulnerabilities or emotions in them? Mmmm, he does look good with another kitty... ^_^

Yeah, but it's a little odd just having it here on FA, especially since technically I try to leave all b/w sketches as scraps. We'll see?
More about Vlad and having a kid shortly! Sorry, just trying not to get ahead of myself.
He doesn't talk about the glasses much, but part of it is they're electronic and constantly feeding him information. So it's just practical, in his mind

*Smirks* Shades while fighting and while in bed. No wonder no one'll know his eye color. XD
Hmm..."Homosexuality is genetic" Seems to cross my thoughts...but could just be a coincidence that his nephew is one is the better answer. XD
I'm quite intrigued what happens next, excellent idea from the both of ya, V. ^^

Homosexuality is genetic, huh? That sounds as logical as saying infertility is hereditary... But didn't I read somewhere that there *is* a gay gene, apparently passed down the mother's side? As I recall, it's a gene that increases fertility in women - with the side effect that a certain percentage of their sons will be gay. Hmm.
Have you ever played the game "Before I Kill You, Mister Bond"? This scenario would make an excellent option for the finale.
You mispelled "Frostovsky" in the first panel, and in the Vladimir and Georgiy portraits too!
Surely Vladimir has green eyes, all the Frosts do!

The second panel reminds me of younger Cody with his parents, in the mall, making a show of *not* looking at the hunk in the tank top.
Oh, and:

I can see Vladimir casually pushing the gun aside like Moore in the video!

HA! One of my characters is a secret agent too, though not quite as suave as Mr. Bond and Vlad here. I'll get all that written down to paper, someday, when I ever get around to it ... ><
Hehe awesome work, chief. I'm looking forward to reading these as you post 'em up! Very I.S.O.-esque, I can't wait. :)

LOL Secret Asian Man indeed :P
Yeah! I guess ever since you did my comic I got kinda used to you using the regular rectangle layouts. Do you plan to use any of the crazy layouts for this story?
Ahaha, I was walking by the cultural music dept. and heard a balalaika playing. That instantly reminded me of Russia, then Vlad/Georgiy, and of course, this awesome folk song that these two should know well (and you too!):

As the original box art said, "From Russia, With Fun!" XD

Completely Awesome Dude... Though I must say I would Bed 1960's Sean Connery Long before I bed 1995's Pierce Brosnan... ( Though if you were talking about Pierce's 1980's Remington Steele's version this would be much harder for me.. and I always had a hard on for Tim Dalton XD)
I freakin LOVE it though
I freakin LOVE it though
