Actually when puppies they are very similar and hard to tell apart. Also if you don't crop a dobermans ears they are floppy as well.

The snout is very distinctive, though. The beanie baby I have has a very short, rounded snout as opposed to the longer, pointed snouts of doberman.

Of course there is a difference. As fare as I am concerned Rotties are wonderful dogs and dobbies are nasty ugly dogs.

If I did decide to get a dog it would be a Rottie. The only problem is I am more a cat person than a dog person.
