So the other day, I realized that the silly haircut I like so well on Bingerton is basically the same cut as Lady from Lady and the Tramp...short tight pattern, clean feet, full ears. I lol'd about how Bingy is like a really derpy, strokefaced Lady...and then I had to draw it. I over-accentuated his features...he's had a major stroke (hence his nickname: Strokeface) and so his face sags on one side, from time to time, but I did play it up a lot. ;) He does have "hound-throat" and saggy eyelids though, and I got his eyes PERFECTLY...he has a creepy blind eye on the good side of his face. Add to that the fact that he's a profuse drooler, and...
...LOL BINGERTON IS LAY-DEE. ;)
Lady, meanwhile, does NOT look impressed.
*cough* YES I PAINT HIS NAILS AND GIVE HIM BOWS. My derpy Bingerton is a princess boy. ;)
Long story short, I love Bing. He's silly-looking. :)

LOL, I never thought about it that way but it's true!!! :D I'm still fairly new to grooming, I was a bather for years, been a groomer for only two years though. I do mostly simple pet trims and body contours, but lately I've been doing more and more scissoring. I had a Miniature Poodle hand-scissor-all recently and I amazed myself (and the others!) by pulling it off pretty well, so...hopefully I'll continue to grow in skill. :)
Eeee, I bet your Maltese is adorable!!! Pictures or it never happened! ;)
Wish I had decent photos of Bing in his silly "Lady" trim, he's hilarious. I never knew clean feet on a Cocker would look good, though...
I love grooming and I love discussing it with other groomers, lol. Hit me up anytime for discussions, rants about idiot customers, et cetera! 8D

We had one in today. Ugh. Crazy customers are crazy...she asked for us to leave about four inches of fur on her Maltese. The groomer she had the appointment with had to explain that the dog only has two inches on it's body, so...leaving four inches? Mmmmmno. We honestly think she might have been high, the weird slurry way she talked...crazy!!!!
We get twacked out customers all the time! My favorite was a woman who wanted the fur cut short, but left long (her words!!) and the face rounded but a bit square, and she didn't want any scissors or clippers used on her dog.
So I refused service, lol. I was like I'm sorry, I can't help you, and boy was she pissed off!

So wait. No scissors or clippers...you are supposed to magically cut the dog's fur with the POWER OF YOUR MIND???? WTF! XD!!!
I've had people do the "short but long" before with me, so irritating!!! It makes me spend about a year or two with the customer trying to figure out wtf-ing f they want. Ugh!!!
We had someone call to make an appointment yesterday...the lady truly believes that if we put her dog into a kennel IT WILL DIE. Dog has no health problems, no behaviour problems except it bites for nail trimming...wtf??? We accomodate her for an extra charge but it is annoying. I have another dog who is cage brave, once she's in there GOOD LUCK getting her back out, but...this particular dog has no issues, and mom hovers around in our waiting area the WHOLE DAMN TIME. It's a wonder her poor dog isn't neurotic, living with this lady!!! XD

My roommate posted this slightly older: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6952402/ It was near impossible to get all three dogs in one photo, so apologies that it isn't great...Bing's eye really does have that creepy white pupil, lol. :) Jack and Cricket's pupils look odd due to eyeshine, they can see fine. XD!!!!
This is a really older pic of him, he's actually got his face tucked up pretty well (the sagging side only sags most of the time). He's also got horribly shaved ears, too, because when I got him, his ears were BADLY matted and had rotting food in them; when I shaved them initially he had big hematomas and bruises all over them. :(

I don't know. XD Bingy isn't even really "my kind of dog"...I usually don't like Cockers and I don't like clingy, needy dogs or idiot-dogs (and Bing is the stupidest dog I have ever known!) but...I just LOVE him. Most of my friends don't "get" me and Bingy...but he is sweet and stupid, snuggly and silly...he makes me smile and he makes me laugh, and sometimes having a natural clown makes life a little better. :) Add to that the fact that my roommate's dog is a VERY smart, handsome Miniature Schnauzer and it's like night and day: one is cheery and stupid, the other is smart and sly. ;)
Ack, it did not post my entire messge, Im sorry, stupid phone!
I said you must 'hate' your dog. But it missed my whole explaination on you hating him so much you make him fashionable for the ladies, and get him new sportin nails.
Grrr. I hate phones. THey dont like me.
Your dog is adorable. Sorry for the miscommunication my friend! Please keep up the wonderful drawings.

He's pretty awesome, he's probably the only Cocker I'll ever own. :) He originally belonged to a little old man in Alabama...and when the man died, his family decided nobody wanted his dog, so...they gave him to a fellow groomer who was looking for a dog at the time. Her kids couldn't be persuaded not to harass him, and after a few years of tolerating this he began growling and snapping at them (I've seen their interaction, the kids were totally inapropriate with him! One actually grabbed him by the ear to keep him from getting away!) and the mom decided to rehome him. Her ex wanted him, and swore he'd keep Bingerton healthy and happy and well-groomed.
Three months later, her ex showed up at her house, and dropped off the dog, saying he doesn't want him any more. Bing's floor-length skirt was matted to the skin...his ears were a nightmare of matting, and had rotting food matted into them. She still didn't want him near her kids, so I decided to take him. When I shaved those poor ears, he had big nasty hematomas and was all bruised from it.
I love this dog, he's awesome...makes me smile with his goofy, derpy ways! He's a lot of fun and just a total sweetheart. Great dog! :D

DO IT. I thought I would hate it, so I did it while his skirt is still short so I could grow it out no harm no foul, right? NO, i love it!!!! It's cute and easier to keep clean, plus now I can paint his nails without gunking up his skirt with the polish! 8D!!!
