Personal - Huznullah

Wow, introducing my latest character - Huznullahi, or Huznu for short...though Huznullah sounds best. :P Arabic for 'Sadness of God.'
I don't want to reveal much of the backstory yet, for sake of not having many illustrations other than Skeezit up yet... But Huznullah lives far away from where Skeezit lives, but they do team up. But Huzn is from a desolate desert region - banished from the mainlands by the new Institution, which seeks to eradicate the old traditions...including the old Hizb al-Haqq, or Keepers of Truth, which include Huzn and a few other special dragons that you'll meet soon, inshallah. ;)
Combining my loves of dragons, history, religion, and science fiction all in one...ah yeah...
Also, YES, I can do scaly dragons! In fact, from both Saint's and Chris' stories, there are scaly Western European dragons, including Flint, but I never take the time to do their scales. *cough*lazybah*cough* So I chose to fully scale Huzn - originally just sporting shin-scales and belly-scales - in order to force myself to practice - and I do, really, honestly, love legit-scaled dragons...
So, also plan to see more scaled dragons coming soon too. :P
Abdulaziz/Skeezit is very lithe and flowy...so, in contrast, Huzn, (and some others coming,) are bolder, more muscular in their form. There's a reason for this, as their story will lay out, inshallah...
So yeah.
Ballpoint pen sketch coloured in PSE.
Feel free to critique both the scales and shading.
(I gotta say thought...I battled with the background. I really wanted this one to be striking, but it turned out rather flat. So any pointers/suggestions for upping the anty on this bg would be much appreciated. ;) )
Enjoy!

Thank you! ^^ I've actually just recently gotten into drawing feathery dragons. I think it's rare to see like, dragon-dragons, like muscular, scaly dragons with feathers. Otherwise, there's like a whole subculture of 'avians' and 'modern dragons' with feathery wings, but those dragons are usually long and skinny and without scales...and sparkle, hahahahaha.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
I actually made a dragon with feathery wings myself. though the wing is still based off the usual bat wing shape it's all feathers. I thought it would be a fun way to mix the 2 types. Though the rest of the dragon is all scaley the wings I thought there a nice distraction. I hope you will keep doing feathery dragons and wings. would be interesting to try and mix birds and dragons. Like making a dragon and giving it the colour and patterns of a bluejay for example. that would be silly and fun.
keep up the great work
