Personal - Birth of a Prophet
~~~
*FULLVIEW FOR AWESOME DETAILS AND LIGHTING EFFECTS!*
(These are the few times I'll intentionally make my pics super-big - take advantage of it!)
Abdulaziz, displaying one of his main powers... Quwat an-Noor, or Power of Light, where his belly, stripes, and eyes light up. He can also breathe a glow of light, which I'll show in another pic coming up, inshallah...
The belly glow is actuall from a suggestion from a friend on an earlier pic of Skeezit - they suggested making the light-coloured parts on his belly emit a sort of light, and I thought, 'Awesome! This will work perfectly for his power!'
Also...showing Skeezit without wings! Mainly for me to work on and show off my awesome chest/mid-section anatomy, and so his wings don't hog all the space...like some-dragon, IDRACIL. HMPH. :|
Should I make that one of his powers? Phasing his wings on and off as he sees fit? Might be interesting... What do you guys think?
Also, like I said in my other pieces, I am slowly building a story about Abdulaziz...combining my love for dragons, history, religion, and science fiction...hmm... PAH.
To the art! Working on ANOTHER new style, since I pretty much got the other style down...just need to alternate and work them to death. This one is focusing on the character, and also a specifc area of bright light. (Unlike some of the other pieces in this style I've seen...mine actually have, like, decent and not totally sloppy shading...)
And also note his little fur details. Skeezit is actually covered in a very light down that refracts light and has some fiber-optic/rainbowed qualities in sunlight. Never mentioned that before, thought I should.
Enjoy!
err... is it possible to combine fantasy, history, science fiction, AND religion?
well better than if you would have said science... then i'd say you were plain crazy...
on to the comment!(and yes i felt like starting/ writing a short scene... i got bored)
nice style, wish i had the money to get equipment to do this... heck i'd still have to learn it first... that's all i got to say for now besides the fact that shiny things usually attract creatures of the dark
*sits down and makes a campfire and starts roasting the fish i caught, then stares at the flames*
*after a while when the fish are cooked i motion to Abdulaziz*
hungry?*holds one fo the fish out*
it's dangerous around here... that glow of yours'll attract some pretty nasty things, best be prepared
Yes! :D Trust me, I'm really learned in religion and history, and can weave them together. ;) I'm very excited to start doing full illustrations of the story...
Actually, I'm really not using any high-end tech. I'm using a basic Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet and Photoshop Elements - not even full Photoshop. Thus proving, that technology doesn't make the art. ;)
*Abdulaziz creeps out of the darkness, as sneakily as he can, despite the fact that his glow can be seen for virtually miles around*
Abdulaziz: Sure!
*Abdulaziz snaps up the fish and gives you dewey eyes for more*
Poor boy, he needs to turn that off! But he'd be a convenient nightlight...
I mean i dont have the money for anything... If i just had a tablet to draw with id be just fine... Its not being able to get solid color to my drawings thats the problem
* offers another fish, smiling* yknow, whatre you doing out here anyway? I dont see anything worth being out here for
i mean color pencils are a real pain to make the color solid a.k.a. no white showing.
heh...i can understand that. hey, if you got nothing better to do mind keeping me some company for a while? i'm heading west to meet a friend of mine, a dragon by the name of Blaze, and after this forest ends i'm told there's not many villages till i reach him. besides you seem... different than most dragons i've met. i can understand if you'd rather stay here but i don't find many people willing to talk much...
not exactly sure...but*holds up the sheathed sword next to me* i usually keep myself armed in case of emergencies. once we reach past a certain point they wouldnt bother us either way... i've been there before but not by foot.
let's just say the beasts there have learned not to try to mess with me
That sounds incredibly cool! I haven't read any of your stories yet, but I'll give it a quick look-over once I have some extra time on my paws. I usually read Sci-Fi and Fantasy with a healthy dose of Horror, Mystery and possible Romance in it. Yep, I'm a daisy in these kind of things. :X
