Origins, teaser 2, illustration 2
Part two teaser continued from http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7375515
Illustration made by
rav for a story project I've been working on for two months. More to come later. The story was made as an attempt to give one of my two characters a decent backstory and explain how he turned chaotic/rogue from being a full time military officer.
I wrote the story myself and came up with all elements, artwork is by Rav. He does excellent artworks. This piece cost me 15$ in case anyone is wondering. Also thanks to
evilkingtrefle for giving me some ideas for later in the story, thanks for the feedback man
I will release the full story later as pdf-format, the illustrations are meant to show off a few key-moments in the story to show the style and feeling I tried to achieve.
Illustration part 2 of around 6 or so.

"Origins" teaser part 2
[Two days earlier]
The power-hungry ruler on planet Sigma had been building up his military forces over the last couple decades, and was making threats against the rest of the quadrant, threatening the balance of the whole sector.
Mac; a captain in the third covert-op Omega-force had been tasked by his commander to probe the enemy defenses and try to find out what kind of forces they were up against, if things escalated into a full war. There was to be no fighting in this mission, if they encountered resistance they had orders to pull back and regroup.
"So what if we find something they don't want us to see, do you expect the enemy to just .. let us walk away?" Mac asked the grim and ugly looking General Hoss in front of him.
"I know we've been through situations like this before, and they usually don't end well, I'm worried about my troops"
"We kinda figured that, so we replaced half your group this time with soldiers from the fourth Omega force instead, no need for you to feel all personally connected with every last soldier like last time." Hoss said slowly, coughing over his fat cigar blowing smoke up in the sky
as they talked over the mission outside the barracks at base.
"You did what?!" Mac yelled, turning and looking directly at the older Hoss, trying to make him reconsider this stupid choice.
It was true though, Mac did develop a very tight bond with all the soldiers in his group, but that was to make the cooperation stronger, tighter and better. He needed experienced soldiers who he had fought with before, not some half-assed wannabe replacement from the rival group.
This did not start out well.
"Careful... you wish to go against command?" Hoss asked as he sluggishly turned his fat head, looking displeased at Mac.
Mac saw his stubborn expression and realized there was no way this fat bastard would change his mind, he had prestige to uphold. "God damn command." he thought.
"...Alright... if this is what you order me to do, then I will follow. But I respectfully wish to put in my complaint, no way should I have to accept a change in CAD layout this soon before a important mission. I need to know I can trust these soldiers." He said to Hoss, clenching his fist behind
his back, and biting his teeth together, making a salute and standing at attention.
"Good lad... you might have some potential after all. Just follow orders and do as you're told, you might get your place higher up soon enough." Hoss raised his hand in a half-assed salute back to him, and then turned his back and walked off slowly towards the main buildings to his buddies at command headquarters.
"This happens way too often these days, sometimes I wonder why I try" Mac thought to himself, letting out a deep sigh and started to walk back to his CAD headquarters in the far end of the compound. He walked briskly, trying to shake off his frustration. Walking by a climbing-wall used for training he saw his friend Jack in the distance. They'd known eachother for seven years now, starting out as fresh recruits together.
"Hey man!" Jack yelled to Mac as he saw his old friend, and waved, then walked towards him to talk. "I hear we're going in again, got any details?"
"Hey, yeah we're going in. Big hush-hush as usual. The details will be given out to the guys in a few minutes. But I gotta say, this one is not making me feel good. I think command is starting to get displeased with us for some reason." Mac replied, walking slowly with his friend.
"Anything in particular..?" Jack asked, turning his head to see Mac's eyes. He looked.. sad almost.
"I guess Hoss has it in for us, ever since he nearly killed us all due to his incompetence.
In hindsight if we had followed his orders to the letter that time we would not have been talking right now. Of course, afterward he managed to convince high command it was his initiative that turned the battle." Mac said, quietly to Jack, trying to remember what had happened...
