Oh come on I mean it! I love the way his ears poke through that hat. I also really like the anatomy of his right arm. I think you got the look of muscles just right and as always you did fantastic hands I just LOVE the way you make the claws/finger tips look.

I have always really likes your hands and the way you do the claws. I don’t really know if I can fully explain why but just something about the way you make the claws look like there an extension of the hand seems really natural and adds a level of believability to your characters more so then anything else I have seen you do. I know there all make believe but if I ever did see a furry I’d like to think he would have hands just like you draw them.

Technically fantastic work - but it looks like you drew a human underwear model and then stapled a tail and mask onto him. Flipping through your gallery, you've added fur textures and tufts in other works... so why not here?

Well, it really depends on the piece and what I feel suits the character. Sometimes I like furry sometime I want the figure to be cleaner. I also think its an easy thing to critique in colored works, but there are literally thousands of linearts (and some colored works) on fa that have no illusion of textured fur. I think it comes down to aesthetic and a draftsman's line quality and mark.
Sometimes it can depend on what the commissioner wants as well, though that wasn't so much the case here.

For this picture, I'll admit it was in part laziness. This was already such a complex and detailed commission that adding a lot of detailed fur in his torso and arms would have just tacked hours more onto an already long amount of work.
The other part I attribute to personal preference and how I wanted to portray this particular character with a certain mood. Clean, cool and calculating. I didn't want him to look scruffy or dirty.

Does that address your concerns?
I'll likely do more furry, fluffy guys in the future, it's just not what I wanted for this piece.

I drew the head, with ears, the added the hat, so they should be in the right place :/ sometimes furries and hats just look wonky :/
