Two months since we got set up and already we are having troubles. Surveys proved that the island is even more devoid of metals and minable minerals than I thought. The few crops we tried to plant do not perform well, so my people have largely had to subsist on fish and imported food, largely from HFI.
What's worse, we have begun to notice an odd disease amongst the fishermen and dockworkers. Even with something of a meager diet, they have begun to put on weight. Their ears have become malformed, and their genetalia has experienced some odd swelling. Soft hair grows across a number of them, and they've been having odd vocal fluctuations. I have done my best to avoid panic amongst my people, but this bizarre disease does not seem to be spreading.
At least, I pray that it does not.
