In a way, the room/corridor thing reminds me of something that would be in a Legend of Zelda game, very cool, whatever it is, I don't know what's going on either really. Perhaps, it is some kind of enchanted hallway/corridor, and the door triggers the spell which warps reality, causing the place to spiral and stretch or something similar, and it causes any hapless creature(s) within, to involuntarily transform into a dragon, or dragon-like creature. Of course, once this transformation happens, a powerful spell perhaps, blocks that door, preventing escape, as the whole place erases into oblivion, then the newly transformed dragon is dropped harmlessly somewhere, maybe to a horde of shinies and such, or just elsewhere, and it resets for a new victim! would make for a cool dungeon anyways.
