I believe that's the first time I actually re-released a track after making it public... but that's because Baldur felt inclined to do some more vocal takes and bring it closer to perfection. So we squeezed them in, freshened the mixing, and... well. Here's how it would have sounded like to begin with, if we wouldn't have rushed uploading it.
My first collaboration with datbaldur - and a very rewarding one. He's been a wonderful wolf/woof to work with, and who knows... this might not have been the last time we worked together! (Unless he's exhausted from all my demands and critique - which I dearly hope not...)

Lots and lots of obvious benefit from the rework. Was that a duplication effect for a moment in the beginning or am I just hearing things? Whatever it was I can't decide if I liked it or not, but it made me listen, which is a good thing I guess. Much more confidence and accuracy here. Much clearer consonants, too clear at times. They got a little cutting in spots; long ones especially, 's' 't' 'ch' and the like. The more nasal consonants should've gotten that emphasis, things like 'm' 'n' and 'd' got fuzzy or were dropped in places, particularly where they ended a word. Maybe a better pop-filter would soften that without losing the definition or getting further from the mic maybe? I don't know, I certainly wouldn't recommend reducing your diction! Far too much of that out there these days... Makes for good strikes at the start of sustained notes in any case.
Maybe I should take my notes to Baldur, as I have essentially nothing to say about the instrumental work. But I suppose that is the purpose. The backup instrumentals are like the CG visual editing in a movie. If you notice it all the time, they're doing it wrong.

There's a duplication effect in there with a different melody line; if it was subtle enough to make people wonder if it's actually there or not, then I'm glad it worked out just the way I hoped it would.
I was the one who actually urged him to get closer to the microphone for the recordings; otherwise, the resonance and timbre of the voice easily becomes muddy and inaudible.
And, once again, thank you for the elaborate feedback. It's much appreciated, and I'm sure Baldur will stumble upon it too. If not, I'll ensure he will.
