I -LOVE- those scales and the color pattern. Also, you've done a great job making an anthro snake. So many times they look as though they are just lizards. But you can tell with this, without looking at a description, that he's a snake.

I went in... drew in all the scales individualy...
then I colored one layer brown and shaded it... then I used the gradent map to make the other colors... and I erased where I didn't want the colors to be...
then I went in with the highlight tool and made some of the scales more promounced :D
