I am not particularly an animē fan myself. But every once in a while, an animē series proves to be interesting and grabs my attention in a death-grip. While some have certainly phazed out (Pokémon, pretty much any animē series that was on Fox Kids/FoxBox), others stayed with me (Kimba the White Lion, Fullmetal Alchemist, Kaiketsu Zorori, Sherlock Hound and Samurai Pizza Cats). And now it seems I might have another to add to the list: the classic mindf*ck work Neon Genesis Evangelion.
For those unfamiliar, Neon Genesis Evangelion revolves around the interactions between the teenage pilots of EVA units and their various psychological problems from the kind of messed-up lives they've had. The main antagonists are these beasts called Angels, powerful eldritch abominations that only the EVAs really stand a chance against. So basically, it's a show about giant robots piloted by troubled Japanese teenagers fighting against giant monsters like Sachiel here who appeared the first episode and was able to stop and shatter a g*ddamn bomb in the air with its fist. Then you get into the psychological stuff BIG TIME. And it all goes from there. Battles! Bloodshed! Postmodernism! Nightmare Fuel!
I have mostly only started this series and seen many parts of both the original series and some of the Rebuild version. Despite my previous attempt to look at the series only to come out hating the mindscrew elements, I gave the series a second chance when I got into Postmodernism. I honestly want to see more. Granted, what I do know about the series so far is limited to a collection of YouTube postings and TV Tropes, but it definitely seems more interesting to me this time around.

It's the next step of home entertainment after DVD. They are getting cheaper all the time, those and the players themselves. You can view them without an HD TV, but you won't get the full picture beneffit until you do. One thing I will urge people to stay away from is Blu-ray 3-D. I hope that gimmick dies VERY soon.
HD apparentily has been in development since the 1950's, but it's only just recentily been put into practice, in a bit of a bad time as people were only just getting used to digital TV but what can you do?
Overtime you will notice a sharper, more chrisp, more clear image then standard defination, not that SD is going to simply dissapear overnight along with DVD's etc. But yeah they really need to throw out the 3-D glasses idea, it's an EPIC fail.

Eh, just seems like yet another cash-in as far as I'm concerned. Just like the constant rush of all the iWare.
Been looking at HD for a while and still don't really notice a sharp, crisp image. In many cases, it comes off as really distracting. Then again, I rarely watch TV anymore and most of this experience is with seeing people's films or the occasional series on the screen at the parents' house.
3-D is just gimmicky and will always be, under the pretense of "enhancing the experience". To date, that has only worked with those 4-D attractions at theme parks, as far as I'm concerned.

Apple's iWear is a totally different kettle of fish, as the iWear started off as fashionable Mp3 players and have now become phones and tablet PC's, evolving with present technology only being developed recentily.
With HD it's been in development since the 1950's, but it wasen't until digital technology camearound when high defination images could be produced by creating a screen that produces more tiny blue, red andgreen pixels that make a television picture. But I do go.
3-D is just an epic fail, especially with those who don't have 100% perfect vision, plusyou have to wear those stupid glasses which hinder your ability to see the proper picture to begin with.

*shrugs* I'm not as tech-savvy. I honestly could care less for any of the iWare or anything like that. I'll just stick with my laptop.
I dunno. From my experience, that has been the only proper use I can think up for them. I just never partook in them otherwise, such as those "3-D Missions" of Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. Maybe we just had a bad TV, but my sister and I tried a few of those and got headaches just from trying to discern what exactly was supposed to be "3-D" about it aside from the blues and reds.
