solitaire is
redsilver's super-cute vintage cartoon cat character; she, along with her friend mint the deer, escaped from their cartoon world in order to search for their creator, who seems to have disappeared. please check out red's awesome rendition of sol and mint having fun here! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7391045
being a witch's familiar, solitaire has learned a lot about magic, and she knows quite a few spells that help her get buff in that fun, cartoony way!
thanks again for the opportunity to sketch her, red! :]

Hah, those two are quite the interesting pair, and I'm glad you've been having fun with their designs, as well as that Red created 'em. Seems like they were custom made just for you to have fun with in a cartoon muscle fwoompination sorta way.
Makes you wonder if they can share that with less cartoonish sorts from the Real World. Hmm.

i'm glad you find them interesting! i have a lot of fun brainstorming with red; he's an awesome artist and a wonderful designer. you're right, characters like these are super fun to think about in a lighthearted and cartoonish way.
and they certainly can share that fwoompination with the real world, whether it's pumping up a tree to make it too strong for a lumberjack to cut down, sucking the power out of a muscle car, or inflating someone who's too short to ride a roller coaster! when cartoon powers meat real life, fun stuff is bound to happen. :]

The whole "toons in RL" thing certainly has fascinated creators for the longest time, apparently ever since the start of animation, at least to judge from some of the old school cartoons out there in animation archives. It's nice to see the two of you sticking with a more lighthearted approach; I think the darker angles have been plumbed rather thoroughly in various mediums involving the toony sorts assimilating to the regular world.
Now that's some handy methodology for fwoompination usage, right there! Totally stay away from my car, however. It's a tad on the wussy side as is. :)

you're so right! it's certainly not an original concept in and of itself, but it does lend itself to a myriad of daydreams. imagining how any particular real-life situation might be affected and shaped by a somewhat foreign cartoon influence is quite fun i think; though as you say, the darker tones of the picture tend to be the ones explored. a somewhat melancholy (or at least potentially so) air does weave itself around mint and solitaire, as it's no fun to be abandoned no matter who or what you are, but they rail against it with unflappable cheer. :]
and don't worry, neither of them are malicious or cruel! mint would be happy to pump your car up for you if you ask nicely! she likes to give underpowered things a boost. :]
(and as an aside, i can't believe i wrote "meat" instead of "meet" up there! i am grammatically chagrined! that's why i shouldn't post past midnight... like i'm doing... now. NOOOOOOOO)

Don't feed 'em after midnight!
What, words?
Augh, now they'll run amok!
Yeah, I find myself reviewing things I've posted on FA and thinking "You did at some point in your life attend a school that tried to cover the basics of grammar, right?" fairly frequently.
But! Muscle inflated english teachers aside. *Pauses*Contemplates* Wait, where was I? Mint and Solitare's creator! Right, right. I find myself wondering if they simply moved on and misplaced the duo in the process, or if it was something more complex. So many possibilities! Considering the potential time frame, there's quite a few.

aw, you're a very eloquent speaker, so i think your self-criticism is a bit harsh! :] but hmm, muscle-inflated english teachers, you say? there's a great idea... *drifts off*
...ahem! uhm, on the subject of mint and solitaire's creator - you're right, there are lots of intriguing possibilities, and they range from light-hearted and whimsical to rather dark and melancholic. fun to daydream, if nothing else!
