What's 'Hirondel' mean?

I have no idea what "Hirondel" means. It was a fictional car in the Saint novels, by Leslie Charteris. (I've never even read one.) Whether or not anyone has ever illustrated a Hirondel, I could say. Probably. But they would have illustrated the model supposedly driven by Simon Templar, back in the 50's and 60's.
