If you ever wonder why I don't post more often. I think this is the best way I can explain it. I love my sketches, they're usually full of life and character and pretty darn good if you ask me. Just look in my scraps if you want proof.
But something gets lost between sketch and finished product and it usually ends up looking like crap. It's EXTREMELY frustrating and I wish I knew what it was and how to keep from losing it.

This is not bad at all! Definitely shows your improvement here.
I think its that sketches are vague at best, so the viewers, including the artist, mentally fill in the visual blanks with perfect, realistic pieces. When the complete piece doesn't compare to what we envisioned, it seems as if we ruined it, when in fact what we were going for was perfection that was unobtainable.
Continue practicing. It'll start looking like what you want to in no time!

Hey! It's been a while. And wow! You have really improved since the last time you posted.
Reading WeaselZERO's comment, that seems to make sense. I think that a lot, but the difference is that sometimes it stops me from drawing all together, which is worse because practice is the only way to really get better. Well, that and help from other artists. But mostly practice, practice, practice! And reference.
.....Kinda don't know what else to say. You have improved. :3

That's actually pretty much par for my sketch lines. What really helps is I have a tablet, the computer not a wacomm. I can get much cleaner lines with it than I could with my old wacomm, it's like the best of both worlds. Ease of upload and use of my old wacomm and the clean lines of drawing with a pencil.
Not that I'm ragging on wacomm, it's just that if I can't see the line as I'm drawing it from my hand, I can't draw a straight line to save my life. I'm sure one of the tablets that double as a monitor would be even better than my little android tablet.
