Being my birthday hasn't really made it any more special to me. As I get older, it just seems old and worn like a well used wash towel.

Of coarse I've also seen a few relationships go south too. So it probably doesn't bother me as it does Candi.

In the old days I have a friend. handsome, aquiline nose, long dark hair, and he would constantly pick up waitresses at Lyon's (a Denny's equivalent.) constantly. he would leave his car at work, we would take him with us to discuss our projects, and he would stay after shift, while we went home. The next morning his "date"would drive him to work. I don't think his car got that much milage except on weekends. We were impressed, but then we were just out of high school at the time.

You know the overnight shift at those restaurants will get people drinking coffee all night and plotting all sorts of things in the back corner. they tip well as long as the coffee keeps coming. Lots of plot ideas there.

I don't celebrate V-Day (or VD if you prefer) it's Arizona Statehood Day. Hearts, chocolates, and drippy cards be damned!! And in my dark moments of weakness I sometimes wish I had a date.

it always does seem to be the people who work on V-day are always a bit mor bummed... but they do it for important reasons such as needing to pay bills as you say... though normally i`m at such resturants alone myself so i talk to him try to help cheer em up *smiles* that and i tip em really well on that day *gives Candi a snug a shoulder to talk to... and a 15 dollar tip after ordering a apple pie and a drink of pop* :)
