I particularly like the rune/charm/kata magic, though I admit I'm unsure exactly how it works. From what I can gather, it requires the use of a charm to be effective? Or am I deducing incorrectly?

And how dare you say that translating English is a "ridiculous, tiring process"! It's clearly ridiculous, tiring, and borderline suicidal XD

Now I assume, due to previous entries and the mention of kangaroos and English, that this does in fact take place in a world parallel to the Earth we know. I do look forward to seeing where you take this, since our Earth is something that we ourselves have yet to explore fully, and likely never will. Your take on that will be interesting, especially as you've revealed so little on it as yet.

The rune magic is difficult to explain and it's mechanics are not absolutely critical to this story, so it will probably come in a later story. There's going to be a little bit of explanation later by one of the characters who is more practiced in runes, but I think it's only going to be about a specific instance.
