"What I see before me,
With the bars pressed against my face,
Unsettles me.

Clawing the sweat from my face everyday.
Each and every flash a bigger shock than the last.
Endless scratching.
Endless itching to tell,
But endless horror.

A snow drop on a sunny day,
Reminds me of the tears I forgot to cry.
The remnants of my soul that I've almost let go,
Too many times.

For this feeling I feel,
Is one too real.
Too real to be seen by you,
And too real to be seen again,
By me.

To fly within the empty shell,
Racing memories of past deceit,
Lies, and drowned sins;
To depart from the walking diary,
Flowing through the air into another,
Is all that's left to do,
But all is left to deny.

Please, do not ask this of me.
For I fear this flower that has found spring,
Will find winter once more.
Left bare and unbeautiful,
Comforted only by the thought:
"Let me disappear..."
