A little something for  nexiivanadis for going well out of her way to help me out on more than one occasion.

At one point while hangin' out we were talking about a character Nexii is thinking about making, a phoenix. And you all know how much I like birdy girls, so it seemed like the perfect thing to do in return! So after some rough designs and colour tests, this is the version I ended up with. Nexii is free to change the character as much or as little as possible from this point on, this is more of a starting point to get the ball rolling. I played around and experimented with a lot of ideas that I wasn't even sure would look good, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some changes at all. We'll see what happens from here. :P

I also tried something a little different for the background wash. My background washes have been giving me a ton of trouble lately and I'm not terribly fond of how they look. I've been wanting to do something like this for them for a while, so I finally gaveit a shot. I actually really like the result, and might consider doing something like this with commissions from now on. If you have any thoughts on that I wouldn't mind hearing 'em.

...and yes, I see it. Wings have been giving me problems for ages- anybody know any good guides for drawing wings attached to anthros at various angles? Anything other than straight on, that far wings screwes me up every time. D:
