You know how you get some crazy idea in your head at the moment you've also go the money, time, and access to other resources to give it a try? Well...
I was at Wizard World Comic Con (in Chicago) in 2009. I was on a pre-"The Portable Harem" belly dancer costume kick, and there before me was artist David K. Wong. While he often attends Further Confusion, he mostly does "regular" comic shows and so draws a lot of superheroes. And I thought...
"What would it look like if you flipped Spider-Man's gender and modified the cut of the costume into a belly dancers?"
In talking with him, it evolved into Mary Jane Watson as the spider-dancer, Doc Ock as the Sultan, the Rhino and Venom as eunuchs/guards, and in the upper left you can see Spider-Man peeking through a window.
Art by David K. Wong.
Spider-Man and the other characters are copyright Marvel.
