Cuz currently they hate each other's guts in the comic? I wasn't aware so many people didn't know about their *cough* future relationship status, since the first pictures I ever uploaded of them were romantic or sexual in nature XP

Well TBH the first I saw of either of them was the comic...but I SHOULD have seen it coming regardless! -sigh- I am becoming sloppy me thinks.

I think this coloring suits that previous incarnation a lot better. Something private and shared only for the two of them, that makes me think more of a night scene with the both of these characters. Don't beat yourself up too much, what you see are more the details of what you put into drawing the picture. We as the fans don't all see those flaws and have our own interpretations. I think this is really beautiful myself.

Well, the lighting here is obviously fucked, considering where the source of light is.

Could you be more specific on how I could fix that? I know I fudged the bright highlights on their cheeks but other than choosing to make that light pretty sharp I'm not sure just what 'fucked' means :P I didn't want to paint them in complete silhouette because that's kinda dull for me.

I attribute the sharpness to art style, which is of course perfectly fine. What I meant are the places that are lighted, but shouldn't be when the light is coming from behind and above: the cheeks, backs, Dice's strands of hair on the left side of his face, Nine's knuckles, etc

What program do you use to color?

After seeing these two paintings I decided to go and read the comic in full. You guys make me miss the days of good RPs that were enjoyable. Very nice plot and setting you guys have going on :) I caught up within an hour or so of reading and have bookmarked the RSS feed. :D

Yeah, I agree :3 I also love how you draw humans, you manage to capture the different facial structures that people naturally have, and it's really nice to see for once. I also like the slight country feel that Nine has. It makes his goofy facial expressions all the more amusing. x3

Eee he is a lot more of a 'hick' than Dice, despite never having worked on a farm. And I'm glad the different facial structures are visible enough to be noticed. I sometimes worry that I'll draw two characters too much alike. I have a lot of difficulty reading manga because of how similar characters' faces are. I can't differentiate who's who.

I totally know how you feel when it comes to manga . That's also why I can't read it easily. I think youre doing a fantastic job honestly. You got me hooked and I've been thinking about trying my hand at some fan art, I am just afraid I'll mangle it in an attempt lol. Can't wait til tuesday :D

Gawd your color work is always fantastic. I think the only problem is your perspective.

9's and D's heads aren't parallel with their bodies. If you look at their heads, and compare their shoulders, you can see the difference in angle. 9's left eyebrow would actually be above his right and we should see a little more of his face. D's head should also be turned more to the right.

Other than that, I don't see anything. Your painting style is so cool.

No problem! I don't tend to give out critiques on the internet, especially when people don't ask for them, and especially not to artists that are better than me, but i figured you would appreciate it. criticizing anyone's work, even positively, normally backfires on me and then i get scrutinized for my own art lol.

Same, a lot of artists react negatively to critique so I avoid it unless asked. I know I've seen a few treat redlines like a violation of their work. I love redlines. A visual critique for a visual medium. To each their own though :P

I agree. Redlines are the best way of critiquing a digital piece. Its hell of a lot more effective than trying to describe the errors. I try to remember to ask for redlines every time I post something.

I absolutely adore this image, and I sat here for a few minutes trying to decide which of the two (yellow lighting or blue lighting) I preferred, and honestly cannot decide.
Both images make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and want to mash Dice and Nine together like a 9 year old does two Ken dolls under her pillow >.>

i think the yellow one worked out better for you in the long run.

It looks better in the moon light.

I like the coloring on this one, though if the moonlight is the only light source I feel the contrast should be sharper, and they'd be almost silhouettes.

I've had those days all too often though, struggling so bad with something and just cant get it right...then BOOM it'll face into place easily some other time. It's weird and annoying. XP

To be honest, I think Nine's head is simply too big. Maybe thats whats giving you problems?
