From Russia With Lust, Part 4.
And we're getting close to current day now. I'm sure you see where this is leading!
And I did mention the British secret agent would make future appearances, just not as a huge central character. Heh.
FYI, generally I would keep all b/w sketch-comics in scraps, but I figure I can make an exception here since there's SOME color

A-hahahaha, Vlad "pulling" Georgiy out of the way is hilarious! XD
(Boy, those muscles... <3)
And alright... that's why the mother is "interesting"... because she's fake ^.^
I can relate to Vlad there... finding it difficult to express some feelings. But it shows how much he cares for Georgiy after all!

Oh that's how his 'mother' kept track of what Gregory likes. Now I thought she might have been a secret agent, too, spying on her son. :-/
Vlad: Son, we need to talk. You remember that secret program the state wanted to put you in when you were a child? They cloned you so you could replace that guy you just found. But then you failed those inteligence tests and the project was abandoned....

Oh I see. And she is not working on cures to help people, she works on a super laser to blow up the moon! James Bond and Vlad try to stop her but get caught. Now Cody and Georgiy (Cody being the muscles and Georgiy the brains) have to team up to free Georgiy's father and SAVE THE WORLD! And to gether they have the super power of hyper electrostatic charge! They just have to rub on each other *cough*
Don't know that show(?). I was more thinking along the lines of Star Trek: Nemesis. ^^
The plan would have nerver worked though. Just look at Georgiy. He is way to fluffy to be evil!
What? Show me one villain that is fluffy!

I will say...grumble. My local friends keep forgetting to invite me to parties. I get calls the day before saying "BTWthere'sapartytomorrowbutweforgotyou'renotonFacebookhopetoseeyouthere..." So it may be inevitable for everyone, sighhhh...
Then again, this IS technically only around 2006 in the i.s.o. world...

Oh... ooooooh... so the Mom's basically disappeared and Vladimir has made up an act about her being alive and sending her son loves and best wishes and gifts? Wow. No, seriously, wow. It only took that for me to not like him anymore. I mean, I know he portrays the stoic, serious, no-nonsense, down-to-business type, but doing that to his son? Damn, man, that's just cold.
Well, at least now it shows that they didn't know of Cody till actual adulthood.
Well, at least now it shows that they didn't know of Cody till actual adulthood.
I hate to say this, bud, but you are so wrong, I can't believe how wrong you are in misinterpreting this. Cold and heartless? Vlad is the opposite of that. First, while it may seem cruel, he's giving Georgiy the illusion of a mother out there who loves him, because that is better than telling him that not only does he not know where his mother is nor does she care one whit about Georgiy, but the whole reason for his existence was a government breeding program. Yeah, I can see why Vlad would prefer a fake mother to that horrible truth. Secondly, the very fact he's going to so much trouble to have these letters and packages delivered, that quite clearly he does know what his son loves and wants and is giving it to him via his mother, shows how much he loves him. Yes, the fact he feels he can't or shouldn't express it himself is bad (stupid views on manliness yet again), but at least he does feel those things and is finding a way to show it.
If anything, you should be hating the mother who by never staying in contact or showing she cared proved what a heartless bitch she was, and the government for creating the situation in the first place.
If anything, you should be hating the mother who by never staying in contact or showing she cared proved what a heartless bitch she was, and the government for creating the situation in the first place.
Oh, I hate on them both, believe. She's a heartless bitch, yes. But good God, what was wrong with this guy being honest? Yes, I know he shouldn't mention the breeding program thing, but why not wait till Georgiy is old enough, like his preteens or early teens, to let him know that Mom just went away one day? That's all he had to say and would have been honest! Yeah, it hurts, but this is worse.
He's giving Georgiy an illusion of a loving mother that doesn't even exist, and when you tell a lie, you have to tell another lie to cover it up, and another lie to cover that lie up, and so on and so forth, and it snowballs into an avalanche that will destroy you should the lie eventually burst and the truth comes out. Now he'd have an adult son who finds out he's been lied to all his life and thus that increases the chances he's gonna blow up at his father all the harder and harsher.
Seriously, that's just wrong on so many levels. I don't want to be mean, but gosh, this really just triggered my berserk button, I can practically hear that weird alarm-like sound that Uma Thurman's character heard when she was about to fight the antagonists of those horrid Kill Bill movies.

I see your point, and if the truth were to come out I fully expect Georgiy to call the old man out (or I would, if Vince were intending this comic to be in-depth or seriously dramatic). But I still think at least Vlad was trying. What he did may have been wrong and in the end might hurt his son more than the truth would have (though it's debatable whether growing up relatively normally, even based on a lie, would cause him to turn out worse than growing up knowing all along his mother never knew or loved him), but it doesn't paint him out to be the horrible monster you suggest he is either.
Well, yeah. I've seen it happen to some of my own family members, where someone tells a lie and ten another lie to cover it up, and another lie to cover that one up and it turns into like a vicious cycle, and when the truth is eventually exposed, it gets ugly.
That's why I think this whole thing about making it seem like he's got a loving, doting mother who works hard in trying to save millions of lives instead of just being honest from the get-go is just plain mean and cold. Yeah, I know he's doing it to try to keep Georgiy happy, but you got to see the two sides of the coin in situations.
And yeah, if Georgiy were to find out, just imagine how it feels for a guy to find out his father's lied to him all his life by making up an imaginary mother. Not pretty.

FAKE?? o_O I was just about to say how beautifully written the letter was ("Life is the most beautiful, wonderful experience" - ha, Trotsky much? ), but I guess the letter's still "genuine" since they're really Vladimir's words!
Posting private letters to a known KGB agent is pretty damning behaviour! What will MI6 think? I wonder how Bond expects to be compensated for his trouble?
Calling for a lawyer? Georgiy sounds American already.
So... is he just going to be shirtless 24/7?

Gotta love the playful flirting Bond does towards Vlad.
Y'know, the part that gets to me the most is when I'm reading the dialogue, I can hear in my head Vlad calling his son Georgiy by his name. Like, more on the sound of "Georgie." With his stern face, it just makes me smile and giggle when I imagine that he's calling his son with an adorable nickname.
Hah, I see a reunion of fluffy tigers in the future.
Oh yeah, and a question. Is Georgiy gay as well?

Hurhurhur, now the letter makes sense. I understand how it feels to not show one's emotions, but I'm glad he does love his son. <=)
LOL, that's some VERY GOOD penmanship that american spy has. ;-p XD
LOL, nice math with Cody...doesn't help it's true. LOL. XD
And I love how you he moved Georgiy , I can think of a certain Tiger I'd do that too if I had to. 0=3 Though VERY nice muscles. I'm surprised the chair can hold lil Georgiy. X3 XD

Lol so Gregories mom is actually his fathers secret angent love ^^ which well sorta makes him Gregories Mommy Daddy ha ha. But still love how the story is going. Looks like Vlad is soon to find out that he has more family out there or at least that Gregory does because it seems the 'mommy' had continued to have kids. Cant wait to see what happens next. I seriously hope you continue this sort of like Iso and make it into a short series with a chapter or two. Even if it wont sell as a print it would be a great online only comic.
Well, MOST of the words were from Vlad, the agent just scribed and embellished them a bit
Dunno, Vlad hasn't heard from her. Maybe she complained that having kids ruined her body
We'll see how far it goes. But there's no way it'll be printed...it's not at print res, and it's not in regular pages @.@

Ha ha true but its still the agent that vlad had a fling with ha ha. Its still cool, even though Vlad cant get his feelings across being such a bad ass agent and all, he can still get them through like this.
And lol thats really the only other way for them to have more family if she had gone and had more kids.
And yeah i know it'll never get printed but it should still be continued. IT looks like you're having a lot of fun with it and so are your fans, just hope they dont pressure you for more pages since its for fun and all. But still this is awesome as a spin off though ^^

So much to unpack here...poor Vlad, unable to express his true feelings because he thinks that's not what men do, but doing so via Georgiy's mother...faking her existence and caring to keep from having to reveal to his son just where he came from and how no one cares for him but Vlad...his Bond friend, who even as he makes fun of Vlad shows how much he cares too if he's willing to help Vlad express his feelings and give Georgiy everything he wants...
And then the humorous side of things: the cake frosting link...Georgiy fluffing, and being hoisted out of the way by Vlad...the implications of them meeting Cody... I can only assume Vlad must have a sibling, because the woman who was Georgiy's mother could not also have the Frostovsky name, and it'd be a real coincidence if she had married another Frostovsky who was not related, especially when Karl has the same fluff gene. Hopefully Vlad will get over his suspicions and it will be a happy family reunion that will give Georgiy the family he's always wanted.
In short, comedy, drama and pathos, plus tiger muscle, fluff, and perpetual shirtlessness? Awesome!

Yeah, I guess it's a bit of an infodump, but most of the storyline will be in the current day, so I just wanted to get the intro wrapped up. Dev and I had discussed the backstory but actually had to stop to write a lot of it in a coherent fashion before I can proceed.
I wager Vlad's been trained to not show ANYTHING. Kinda interesting how the various Bond actors have differed on how readily they'll show emotions, so it's your guess which one this is
Not really sure what I can say about the mother. I did kinda kick around the idea that she might not necessarily be a tiger, just another feline.
Thx!

Oh I didn't mean it in the sense of an infodump (though it is), but that there was a lot going on, all with strong emotional ramifications that had to be sorted out and reacted to.
True. I wasn't even thinking about the fact that despite being KGB you were still basing Vlad on the Bonds.
Well presumably all will be revealed in time. And I am glad you'll focus on present day since that will let us see even more of the fun between them and Cody.

(no, no..
..the tiger's name is indeed "Georgiy."
but, as is my wont, i gave the guy a nickname.
to verify that it wasn't a typo, i figured i'd provide a pronunciation fer it.
for which the english equivalent would be "georgie."
{which i'm sure would offend mr. vincent.
L.o.L.}
incidentally, thanks to suzakawa-san, i can't even think of the word "fluffy" without tittering.)
i am known as The Absolver.
(amonsgt other titles.)

OH NICE!! Fake letters from "Mom"? Even for a former KGB agent, this seems twisted and borderline psychologically ill. Jeez! Freaky. Georgiy's so fluffy! I want to stroke his cheek ruffs! TICKLE TICKLE! I can imagine a meeting: JAKE: "OI! It's laike lookin' into a mirrah, eh, Cody? 'Cept he's much more fluffah than you!" CODY: "....."
What I find interesting here is that the Mystery Agent has bothered putting some personal touches in his letters to Georgiy, suggesting that he's got some parental feelings for the tiger as well. In a way, he does end up being a mother figure to Georgiy, from what I think. :)
