Yep! The sword is thought of as an extension of the arm. I had never done this form before the retreat...or even held a sword for that matter!
But the Sword Form is a separate thing from the unarmed Form - the one you're familiar with.
Also there is a Tai Chi Fan Form (yes, it's a weapon!) I have another sketch of the fan form yet to ink and colour; have also already posted one earlier. I know more of that form than the sword...

Quite perceptive of you!
But I have to admit that once I started learning the Sword Form...it was kinda fun...especially the Three To One move - the very ending of it is pictured.
The trippy part was that during one of the sword classes Grandmaster Tam actually said ''don't go over to the dark side.''

The Sword Form has lots of poses in it...the 3 To 1 is just one of them: it starts with the wrist holding the sword turned the other way, both hands up above the shoulders and the sword horizontal. Then the wrist turns, sword slices down and both hands go out all at once - hence the name - 3 actions in 1.
I only just learned the form at the retreat, and only remembered parts of it. I haven't been able to practice it much since I don't have a sword, only a fan, which can sorta substitute.
