Tried that view where sword is angled at viewer ... doesn't really work without colors/background... I need to practice more. I'm also trying to get rid of this damn art block, so if you see more scraps, you'll know why.

*smiles* Even though the pic looks awesome and the perspective as well, I just get the feeling that some thng about your arms, hand & the sword that doesn't quite make it perfect. <=/ I mean: You seem to keep your arm near your body, while the sword is pointing outwards towards the viewer. That by itself makes it difficult to get the perstective the sword has. If you would draw your arm in a bigger angle to your body, that would complete the illussion in a much better way I think. <=3
Not to mention your hand seems to be drawn as if the sword should be pointing diagonally downwards, while it kind of does point downwards of you look at it at first, it is actually a more straight forward kind of angle. So if you had draw your hand differently it would help too. ^^
All that said(and I hope that this sleep just woken up mind of mine is right about all that I said. xD I'm sorry if it didn't. <=S; ): It doesn't make the pic any less awesome though. Like one Other person here said: It does look like you could jump off the pic & thrust your sword towards my chest. x///3

well, even with perspective, it's a little like a greatsword, if you take into consideration that larger forearms = larger sword, it's a fine longsword, but if you look at the sword compared to the whole body, then i think it seems about shoulder height, which is greatsword or 2-handed sword length, while longsword are usually up to ones stomach or ridge between stomach and chest.
but still, the perspective is really well done :o
