Painting The Same Picture
This is an older image that I'd forgotten to upload here.
On the left is Devin (masculine herm) and on the right is Yaira (female). These two are an inseperable fraternal twin pair from different fathers that somehow ended up in the same egg.
Devin is a writer, and the background behind him is a depiction of an old manuscript on yellowing parchment, representing the fact that someone can illustrate something with words.
Yaira is a painter, and behind her is part of a painting that she may have been working on. Rather than a simple, singular image, there is a storytelling aspect to the illustration behind her.
I put this together while trying to convey the fact that both mediums can do extraordinary things if you just try to work with them. Both words and images of the right kind carry a certain power. At the same time, words can be used to illustrate something, and an image can be used to tell a story. Basically, these two things that seem so different can be used for the exact same things.
Pencilled with a Zebra .5mm mechanical pencil (GO click-pencils!); Inked with Micron pens; And this is my first coloring job using the Prismacolor Art Pencils. I pray I'll not kill it once I figure out the color schemes for the BG.
